her fifties was waiting impatiently for her bus, her destiny. She wanted to win thousands of dollars to start a new life. She must be a first timer; she checked her bag and purse so often and glanced at her watch many times. She looked so anxious and restless.
To calm herself down she began to eat a chocolate ice bar. Her tiny pink tongue moved across the surface of it delicately. It melted quickly in this hot summer air. Sitting across to her was a young homeless. His mouth became dry watching her licking the chocolate ice bar. He turned away. His face was troubled. The veins on his neck were tense. The large white bus arrived. The woman and other gamblers boarded the bus. When the bus disappeared, the young homeless wandered away.
*****
The evening news the next day aired the story about a gambler woman attacked near the redline train station. On the same night a 24-hour shop was robbed; everything was intact, except that a few boxes of chocolate ice bar were missing.
