way, into the rushing lines of teens trying to get to class and out of my life.
I never saw Tiffany again. Her father was too drunk that night to have called the fire department in time when she committed suicide.
She lit herself on fire.
I never wanted to believe she was truly that unhappy. She never came off as that, not to me anyway or maybe I just didnβt want to fathom that idea. I always wondered if I could have prevented it in some way. I wondered if maybe something I said provoked her. The question that will haunt me until the day I die though, is if she used my lighter to do it?
I never went to her house to ask for the lighter back, part of me didnβt want to know. Now though, every time I see a smoke or fire my mind travels back to her. Tiffany, she was graceful, smoky and exquisitely beautiful. The eccentrically captivating girl, that never hurt or burned others.
Just herself. Imprint
