The Sea, My Love, and Me by glenway (ebook smartphone .TXT) 📕
The poems in "The Sea, My Love, and Me" are poems of romance and of friendship inspired by people I met over the past couple years. They were written to express the love I felt for a couple of special people in my life, of my love for the seaside; and, also, in appreciation of a few wonderful friends who helped me through my personal journey after a divorce.

If you let me be your clown I could make you laugh. If you split yourself in two, I would help you join each half.
There really isn’t much, For you, I wouldn’t do. If you, somehow, fell apart, I’d help you find some glue.
If you should ever need a friend, Please, please, give me a call! I’d be happy to pick you up, If you should take a fall.
I hope that you feel the same; ‘Cause friends are precious and few. Of all the friends that I have known, You’re one of the most “true blue”.
My Man
My man; he’s sensitive. My man; he loves to give. For others, he does care. Where there’s a need, he is there.
He lifts me up, When I feel down. He can make me smile, When I want to frown.
His humour is so delightful. His thoughts are quite insightful. If you’re thinking, “She does go on!” Please, don’t ever get me wrong.
My man; he’s “NOT” a saint; You can bet, for sure he ain’t, But one thing, that is for sure… When I’m ill, he holds the cure.
And, he does his very best, Whenever he can. The one, I truly love… The one I call, “My Man”.
What Maketh a Man
They say clothes maketh the man, But I don’t think that’s so. Clothes may compliment the outside; But, what’s inside, I want to know.
What makes a man, in my eyes, ‘Tis not the clothes he wears… It’s not the glitz and glamour That reveals his thoughts and cares.
I want to know what’s in his heart, What’s inside his very soul. What he wears on his body, Is like the outside of a bowl.
I want to taste what’s on the inside, Whether it be bitter or be sweet. I need to sample what I find… This, to me, would be a treat.
This, of course, may take some time To sample each and every part. One needs to start with the hor d’oeuvres’ Before the main meal doth start.
I will take my time to explore And savour each new thing I find. I hope I find a man that’s spicy, Who creates a fire in my mind.
A Little Sunshine
A little sunshine came my way, on a dreary autumn day. I was feeling lost and lonely, when someone invited me to stay. I felt a home within his home; at his door was a welcome mat. I had never felt this way before, a feeling such as that.
You see, he simply said, "Won't you come in for tea?" Time flew and before I knew, it was half-past three. I found out a bit about him...his life had been tough. I wanted to learn why…he was so gentle; but, yet, so tough.
I came on strong at first; then, realised it wasn't his style, So I slowed my pace down a bit, to reflect a little while. I knew this man was special…sharing with him felt good. His heart spoke to mine and made mine feel understood.
His presence became part of me, to nurture where I went. His heart had entered mine over time, as if heaven sent.
I heard a dove this morning…the beautiful sound of her coo... The peaceful sound reminded me of what I needed to do.
Moonlight Madness
Moonlight madness, Hearts filled with gladness, Thunder crashing, Someone very dashing…
These thoughts I think of, When I think of you.
Pine boughs swaying, Someone, somewhere, praying, Poets improvising, Thoughts, so tantalizing…
These thoughts I think of, When I think of you.
Dancers, dancing; Nights of sweet romancing, Moonlight beams beaming, Heart strings streaming…
These thoughts I think of, When I think of you.
Tell me, my love, Do you think of them, too?
To Be a Child With You
I want to be a child with you, Never to grow old. I want to crawl inside of you; I want to fill your mould.
My need to explore you grows With each passing day. I hope you understand these words I’m trying to convey.
I have loved someone before, But that love was not complete. Do you know whom I adore? That “NO ONE” else can compete?
In my dreams I only wish for us, That we never will grow old; But, together we will grow In wondrous ways, untold.
My heart’s feeling so much joy… It’s bursting at the seams. So much love’s become unleashed, After finding all its dreams.
It’s never felt this way before; Sometimes, it feels like it will explode. It’s still searching for more adventures; Wanting to share stories, yet untold.
In years, ‘tis not that young, But is feeling a new birth. Before you, it felt sadness… Now it’s feeling mirth.
It never wants to lose this feeling, As it continues on its quest. It won’t give up the desire to be With “ONE” it thinks is “BEST”.
