divorce and full custody of Sabrinaโ
โWhy would I do that?โ Samuel said eyes narrowing.
โBecause otherwise I will tell the press what they have always suspected, that there was something behind you marrying a woman twenty five years younger than you.โ
โWhoโs going to believe you Joyce? Look at yourself. You are in a mental institution. Nobody will believe anything you say. Your mother is right, Iโll give you your divorce, but I will fight for my daughter.โ
โWell I may be crazy Samuel, but I am sure your associates will appreciate this crazy woman telling them about the money you have been laundering since this companyโs inception. Even if Iโm crazy, I assure you theyโre going to look into it and theyโre going to find everything, because Iโm going to tell them exactly where to look.โ
Samuelโs face changed expressions. โIโll give you the divorce and the money, but Iโm not giving up my daughter. I love her too.โ
Joyce thought for a second, โI get full custody and you get limited visitations. Take it or leave itโ
โIโll call the lawyer in the morning. Youโre not as submissive or stupid as your mother led me to believe ten years agoโ
โOh, I was. Living with serpents taught me a thing or twoโ
Samuel nodded; he placed his hand in Annaโs back guiding her towards the door.
For the first time in her life, Joyce felt victorious. She felt like she had control over her life and was going to be able to protect her daughter. She smiled and hugged her counselor. โThank you, for giving me back my life. My mother kept repeating that I should never say the things that happened. The reality is that now they will be out of my life and Iโll truly don't have to live these things againโ.
