Esmeralda White woke up on a normal day in a normal house with a normal family, but it all went downhill from there... In the small town of Newheart, not much contact was made with the outside world. They had their own factories, their own farms, their own schools, their own police force, and their own lives and they didn't want that to change. But it did... A virus broke out in a town located a few miles south of Newheart, and it spread faster than it could be stopped. But there was a problem.
In August of 2014, a deadly disease decimated the world's population. Those that survived called it the end of the world, arriving two years later than the Mayans had predicted. The survivors were left to fend for themselves, scavenging for food and supplies and raiding homes and businesses for their basic needs. Among the survivors are Jayden and Asher, whose efforts to find supplies are more successful gathering new members for their camp than canned goods.
This poem Merciful Time is a slight depiction of dealing with the frustrations of surviving domestic abuse... Each day is a lesson learned.
They are trapped. They are scared. And they only have each other. A group of twelve teenagers; six girls and six boys, wake up on a remote Pacific Island. Water surrounds them for as far as they can see, and they have no memory of where they are, or how they got there. Now, they must work together to find not only an escape, but their lost memories as well. That, or they perish on the desolate island.
