Frantically, she made her way to my side and hugged me tightly. I weeped softly into her shoulder, my body pressed into hers, absorbing all of her heat. I took a step back and held one of her hands in mine.
"Are you ok?" She asked, her voice sweet and comforting, a contrast to her previous demeanour. "It'll be alright, I promise."
Untruthfully, I mustered the energy to nod my head. I could not do this now, I had to be strong, but never in a thousand years could I work up the courage to do this. the thin, white box was held in a shaky hand as I made my way past Rose to the bathroom.
"Tell me as soon as possible please." She called out, her voice worried but reassuring all the same.
I sat down on the toilet seat, my hands fumbling with the package for the thin devise. Once I pulled it out I felt the white, smooth plastic in my hands. I placed the devise beneath me as I relived myself, my mind focused on what will happen, how many blue lines will come up to stare at me.
Quickly, I was done, however I couldn't manage to bring the pregnancy test out into the open. I sat there for a while, tears fighting to be freed from my face like prisoners kept in their cells. I brought my hand out, and waited for the results.
Knock knock
It was Rose, her voice came through the wooden door to ask if I was ok, Her legs a shadow underneath the door frame. I took a deep breath as I looked down at the object in my hands
The tears were free now, my body was shaking on top of the toilet seat as I put my hand over my mouth to muffle the sounds. I got up from the toilet bowl and threw my pregnancy test at the door and punching the tiled walls.
Knock knock
"Amelia, is everything ok in there?" A voice penetrated into the echoey room.
Breathe in it's ok breathe out
Breathe in it's ok breathe out
Breathe in it's ok breathe out
"Two lines," I called out, my voice rough and fast.
"There were two lines on the pregnancy test."
I would never be free from Ezequiel
For he was growing inside of me
