Limone was still very remote location and could only be reached by the lake or on inhospitable mountain trails. The economic recovery was not until 1931 with the completion of the Western Gardesana road. Now there was also another source of income: tourism.

In the center of Limone we followed the waterfront, which ran along the lake. Also, the following day was a beautiful sunny day again. This "Sunday" we enjoyed on the sun terrace below our room. At first it was windy. Then it was very warm by our standards and we retreated to the cooler balcony to take back our snack with a sip of wine.

Also on Monday, May 5, 2014 we were not disappointed by the weather, for there was again "sweetness and light". We opted again for the intriguing panorama. This time we had planned, "engagement rings" to buy. We were relatively quickly found. Of course there is still additional information because we have been married for 16 years. Unfortunately we went on our travels the wedding rings lost and we try it again with the engagement rings.

 In the tourism office on the waterfront, I got me a detailed information booklet with interesting details about lime (from the history I have already quoted). In the evening get me from the balcony some beautiful night shots (long exposures) of lime. Night shots I find particularly attractive, since they require a certain technical effort (tripod, remote release and sensitivity).  The 6th of May was another day with lots of sunshine. The room door was open and I could hear the clock at 5:30 birdsong.  For the first time on vacation rang on Wednesday morning at 7 clock our phone because we wanted time for breakfast. Then we had to exit the boat (9.30 clock) still so much time that we decided to go walk on the Panorama Trail in the harbor.

 The tour began on schedule at the new port of Limone on the waterfront. We drove on the western shore of Lake Garda past picturesque villages and historic sites, such as Gargnano (with the Villa Feltrinelli - longer time of residence of Mussolini). The largest lake island of Isola del Garda could be admired.

 11.15 clock, we came in Sirmione - our first goal - to. Now we had to learn about this interesting place for 2.5 hours at leisure. First we visited the church of Santa Maria Maggiore hidden location that is known for its frescoes. (Travel Tip "S. Maria Maggiore Church") Then we came by chance on older monastery ruins. After these impressive sights we wanted to be close to the harbor a little something eating and drinking. This worked fine - only the price of the wheat beer was exorbitant.

 

 After this failure, we boarded the boat again on schedule to apply to 14.30 clock in Garda. The 1.5-hour break we used to a leisurely walk along the promenade. There we met a complete surprise an elderly mermaid.

 Then we drove over Malcesine (there went up several passengers from) more to our point of lime. Although the weather in between (especially during the crossings) was quite stormy, appeared in between the sun. I can say: it was a thoroughly interesting event. The safe return

Very quickly it went well with the departure on Saturday, March 10, 2014. Over the longer return period I have already written. But was crucial that we got home healthy again. This time it was a holiday with small obstacles - but a very high recreational value.
