Ava's POV:

Shit!

I'm super late today. Usually, I don't sleep that late but today. And why did Noah didn't wake me up? Argh!

Quickly going to the washroom, I wash up and dressed for the day. Taking my phone, I sprinted downstairs.

Entering  the kitchen, I expected Noah to be there but he wasn't. Where is he? Did he already leave me?

Vetoing the thought, I went to the cabinet and took the cereal box and milk from the fridge. Closing the fridge with my hip, I sat at the dining table and started eating my breakfast. Halfway through the breakfast, the front door opened, and in come Noah.

As I looked up I was caught in a daze. He was wearing just pants as it was hot outside and he came from his morning walk.  He was holding a water bottle in one hand while his other hand had a small towel to clean the sweat. His biceps were bulging with the veins popping out and giving a dominant look to his body. His six-pack abs were on full exhibit with sweat shimmering on them making him look even sexier. My eyes trailed down his body to his v-line which showed a happy trail of dark hair going down to the inside of his pants. He was about to say something when he saw me practically drooling over his body and raised his brows in amusement. I flushed and looked down to the floor, as it's the eighth wonder of the World.

"Why you aren't in school,"? He asked taking a seat in front of me and taking the cereal box.

" I can ask the same thing," I fake glared at him and he laughed.

Its been a month since I started living with Noah. At first, I was reluctant but now I'm more comfortable with him. He's so sweet, caring and understanding. But I always feel this strange aura around him, like something strong and dark. He always tries to make me feel better but I can see unspeakable longing and sadness in his, that he covers with mastery. It's hard to see Alpha Xavier and Jessica together. It's the same, cuddling throughout lunch, eating each other in the hallway, and smooching on his car hood in the parking lot. I don't know how long I'll be able to take it. Every time I see them together, something breaks in me. Noah is always there to cheer me up, it's like he can feel it without any words. Our pain is the same and somehow involuntarily we have become each other strength.

"I went on a run," he said while sipping on my coffee.

"I slept in," I said and snatched my coffee from him.

"Seeing them together, doesn't it want to make you shift and destroy something," j asked and I looked away.

"What? Is there something on my face? Why are you looking at me like I'm a yellow frog,"? He asked while chuckling.

" She is lucky to have you," I mumbled gazing at him.

He stopped eating and looked at me for a sec than got up and went to the door.

"You babble too much," he grumbled and left with a small smile on his face.

AT SCHOOL:

Going inside, I looked for Cora and fleur but didn't find them. Where are they? Taking my phone, I rang them.

"Hey Ava," Cora greeted.

"Hi Cora, where are you guys,"? I asked.

" Library," she said. Muttering an okay, I went to the library.

They both were in the library, but there was an unfamiliar face with them. They were engrossed, that they didn't see me. Making my way toward them, I made my presence known.

"Hey Ava," fleur said and hugged me.

"Cora and library, what a bizarre. From which direction the sun has risen today," I said and they all giggled.

"Shut up Ava! That wasn't funny if you are wondering," Cora glared at me.

"Ava, meet Rebecca and Rebecca meet Ava, our bestie," fleur introduced us.

"Hi! Nice to meet you," we both said at the same time and giggled.

"She's new and the dean asked me to show her around," fleur said and I nodded but my attention moved to the twosome who entered hand in hand.

The girls were talking but my attention was on Jessica who was looking in the shelves for books while Alpha Xavier's arm was draped over her shoulder.

Cora and fleur invited her to sit with us at lunchtime and we all went to our classes.

                         ----------------------------

We all sat at our usual table and Rebecca soon joined.

"Guys, this is Rebecca," fleur introduced everyone. We were eating and chatting when Rebecca squeezed making me jump in my skin.

I looked at her but she was ogling Beta Daniel, who has fleur on his lap and was feeding her. He was talking in her ear while kissing her occasionally making her blush.

"Awwww! I also want my mate," she said dreamily.

"Be careful, what you wish for," I mumbled and looked at Alpha Xavier who was playing with Jessica's hair.

"What? It can't be that bad. It's amazing," she said smiling.

"Yes, it's fucking-tas-tic," I said sarcastically and Noah snickered.

                            ----------------------------

Finally, the day is over. We said goodbye and Noah and I went to his car.

I clasp the epithet of the car to open it when accidentally I look beside me to see, that Alpha Xavier has sandwiched Jessica between him and his car and was caressing her cheek lovingly. Sapphire whimpered, she has been quiet these past days. The betrayal of our mate has taken a toll on us.
