You're pathetic

You're sorry? Oh, you will be sorry when I'm done with you. Take this peasant and throw her in the special cell, making sure she has enough water… to be drowned.

Quickly shaking my head, I pushed the horrible memories. They can't hurt me, right? It's in the past. I didn't have these from past years, so why all of a sudden.  I suddenly felt suffocated.

"Cora, I'll be back," I said and went to open the tent.

"Wait! Where are you going,"? She asked.

"Fresh air," I didn't feel the need to explain to her. I was drained physically and emotionally.

"I'll come with you. You aren't going alone missy," she said but I shook my head.

"Please Cora, I just want to be alone for some time," I said and before she could say anything, I ran out of the tent.

I walked away from the tents to the woods. The night was so calm. The night is a world lit by itself. I love the silent hours of the night, complete bliss. I often think night is more alive and more richly shaded than a day.

"Hey," I jumped and looked back to see Alpha Xavier standing there.

"How are you feeling now, love," he asked gently and came closer to me.

"I'm Okay, thank you," I said and looked at him but he didn't say anything. We stood there in awkward silence.

"Awesome movie huh,"? I asked trying to break this awkwardness.

"I haven't even noticed what movie was on," he shrugged still looking at me.

"Me either," I said and looked at my feet as if they were the eighth wonder of the world.

" We need to talk," he suddenly said.

"About what,"? I asked.

"I don't know, I just-I just want to talk to you," he said desperately and I looked at him shocked.

"Ok-Okay," I said and he sighed.

"I'm sorry love," he said and my head snapped in his direction. He was saying sorry, for what? For me being his mate? Or him loving Jessica?

"For what,"? I asked.

"Everything," he whispered.

"I never wanted to hurt you. I'm sorry for everything," he whispered.

" But you did hurt me," I said and a lone tear escaped my eye. He went forward to wipe it but I took a step back, "you always hurt me."

More tears escaped my eyes and he looked away.

" You can't apologize for breaking someone. You can't apologize for someone you can't love back. You can't apologize for breaking my soul. You can't apologize for all the time you hurt me by loving someone else. You showered her with love, while I stayed back, broken. You can aplog… before I could finish, he grabbed me and pulled me to his chest.

He hugged me tightly. He rested his chin on top of my head and ran his hand on my back. I clutched his shirt and cried. I wanted to laugh, at the irony of love, we find comfort in the person, who breaks us the most.

We stood there in the dark, embracing each other. When someone shouted for Alpha Xavier.

Xavi

We look back to see Jessica coming our way.
