Ava's POV:

"The fuck," Alpha Xavier yelled kicking the tree.

"Wh-what," I asked stunned.

"I'm sorry Ava," Noah said looking down.

"This is ludicrous," Cora murmured still in a daze.

I was still in a daze. I couldn't infer anything. How can this be possible? Jessica is Noah's mate then how? Cold sweat trickled down my forehead to my chin and then the neck, and my heart was beating wildly. I was forfeited in my thoughts when someone grab my hand and started pulling me towards an unknown place. I looked up to see that Alpha Xavier was holding my hand tightly. He was gritting his teeth, I can feel the tension in his muscles.

"Ava please, I'm sorry. I didn't know when...," Noah ran towards us and started apologizing. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out of it. I open it only to close it again.

"Skittish pooch, please," Noah mumbled holding my hand, making us halt.

"Leave her hand," Alpha Xavier gritted his teeth. His eyes were a dark shade of golden, his hands were tightly fisted. I hissed when his hold on my hand tightened.

"You're hurting her," Noah glared at Alpha Xavier. Alpha Xavier loosen his grip a little but didn't let go. He pushed me a little behind him and glared back at Noah.

"She doesn't want to talk," Alpha Xavier said and started walking again.

"You're no one to decide for her," Noah shouted.

"She's my fucking mate," Alpha Xavier yelled. I sucked a deep breath at his words. I had always yearned to listen to these words from him. My soul has burned for his love. My every pray was for him. I closed my eyes and tears rained from them. My heart was breaking into pieces. But, today listening to these words from his lips didn't make me happy. Furry bundled in my body at his words. The day, I locked eyes with him and knew he was my mate, he did nothing but break me and when I finally let it go, he was staking his claim.

"Are you sure about that," Noah smirked and tilted his head a little while taking slow steps towards us. In a few steps, he was Infront of us. He was nose to nose with Alpha Xavier.

"Gregg," Alpha Xavier warned.

"What," Noah smirked.

"We'll talk," I told Noah and he smiled at me. Alpha Xavier growled at me but I ignored him and freed my hand from his deadly grasp.

"Love," he growled in warning.

"I will talk to Noah and you're no one to stop me," I said and he looked at me stunned.

"Let's go," I said and we left from there. We were walking silently. Never had I thought it would be this awkward with him. We came to this small lake. It was enveloped by beautiful wildflowers. I sat on a log and looked at the clear water. I can sense his reticence. I looked at him and saw that he was looking down.

"Noah," I called and he looked at me. He slowly came and sat beside me. I looked ahead, not saying anything. I know he's licking his words and feeling culpable. We sat there in an uncomfortable silence.

"I I-m sorry Ava. I didn't even notice when this happened," Noah muttered.

"When you moved out of the house, he started getting restless. I ignored it at first but he became more and more restless," Noah continued.

"My wolf wants you, Ava. He wants to protect you," Noah looked at me.

"Noah," I was shocked by all this. I never imagined his wolf to imprint on me.

" I tried stopping him, Ava. But, I was too weak to control him. With everything going on, he was desperately trying on to hold onto something, or else I would've lost him," Noah whispered. Sapphire flashed before my eyes. She also tried to hold onto something to keep her sanity but I she had nothing to hold onto. Tears of helplessness rain from my eyes.

"I can understand Noah," I whispered and he looked at me. Not being able to hold myself anymore, I burst out there. Noah wrapped his arms around me. We sat there for some time in each other embrace.

"Let's go skittish pooch," Noah said and flickered my nose. I slapped his arm and stood up dusting my clothes.

"Come, I'll drop you," Noah said and started going back.

"Um Noah," I called.

"Yes,".

"Can you please drop me at my parents' house,"? I asked and he nodded.

We sat in his car, and he started the engine. After 30 torturous minutes, we arrived at my parents' house. I looked at the house and a warm feeling sprouted in my chest.

"You okay skittish pooch,"? Noah asked.

"Yes, come," I said but he shook his head.

"I have classes to attend, you go," he smiled. I nodded and got out of the car. He drove away and I went towards the door. Ringing the bell, I waited. After three bells, the door opened.

"Honey," Mom called surprised.

"Hey Mom," I said hugging her.

"What a pleasant surprise," she smiled.

"Love, who's there," Dad called and mom rolled her eyes at him making me giggle.

"My ex," Mom yelled and I looked at her shocked. Dad growled loudly and I saw mom smirking evilly. I looked behind her to see that dad was walking towards us fuming with a gun.
