Chapter 1

Dear Diary,
Today is April 12th and today is the last day of the school year...and the day I'm going to move to Georgia. I am excited to get to see somewhere besides this little town of ours. But, when I told momma that i wanted to see the world I definitely didn't mean 2 hours away to another boring town like ours and momma knows that I'm going to miss Lana like crazy. So I finished packing last night and went straight to bed because I knew that today would be a long day. this morning i woke up and got my school clothes on. Then I headed out to the bus stop. When I got there I sat down on the curb and pulled out my drawing pad. I love to draw. I drew me and Lana doing our secret hand shake. Lana had her big smile on and my braces looked as shiny as ever. Above the picture it said,"Besties For Ever!" in my best handwriting. Then I tucked my drawing stuff back into my bag but kept the drawing for Lana in my left hand. A few minutes later I saw Lana run up the street with her always appearing smile on her face.
"Eilane! Today's the day." suddenly her happy smile became sad.
"Yeah. It's the day." I was just as upset as her. Today's the day.
I had a typical last day of Elementary School. The year book signing, the relief of never seeing your teacher again, but it was a little sad knowing that after school my mom and I would say goodbye to everyone here and drive 2 hours just to have to say hello. All I knew was that no one could ever replace Lana.
On the bus I gave Lana the picture and she said she loved it and she will keep it forever and I believed her.She has kept almost every picture i have given her since the day we had met in kindergarten. We had been best friends ever since.
When we got to school, we walked straight to my locker and Lana opened it up and pulled my first period stuff out and handed it to me.
"Thanks love," me and Lana say that to each other a lot we like to act like we can talk in an accent. But we can't. We then walk over to Lana's locker and I open hers and do the same as she did for me.
"Thank You, love," she says.
"Your welcome and have fun in first period. I'll see you in second. Love" I had to add the love part. Lana and I don't have first period together but we do have second, third, and sixth. So half of our classes are together. In each period we had basically free fun time and got to sign yearbooks and eat snacks.
After the final bell rang my eyes teared up because I knew it was time Lana and I walked to the bus talking about how much we are going to miss each other. We stepped up the bus steps and sat in our regular seat that I guess soon won't be our assigned seat. It will be Lana's assigned seat. By herself. We talked and talked about everything. Then when it was time to get off we both started bailing we got off the bus and Ms. Greo waved like "Thank god they're gone for the summer!"
"I love you, love!" She said.
"Awww.. I love you too, love!"
"Eiline come on time to say goodbye to the folks!" My mom yelled from the house.
"I have to go. Write me and call me every night!" I told her. We hugged and kept hugging until my mom yelled again.
"Eiline! Come On!" So I left. Lana stood in the road like she was clueless. Bye Lana! We said goodbye and left on the road. To Georgia we go.
