I was crying, screaming for him to let me go, but he didn’t. My brother was grasping my throat so tight, that this time, I wasn’t going to make it. “Mercy” I yelled with all of my strength left. “Mercy? Oh Violet, you should have called that word long ago. Now it’s too late.” He tightened his already fatal grip on my neck. “Tarecia.” I whispered, hoping that the mention of my dead sister’s name would lighten his mood. It didn’t work this time though. Patt threw me to the ground and stomped on me with his heavy boots. “No one is here for you, this time. You’ll die, you will. I will leave you now, crying to yourself for mercy.” I lay there, in the cave as he stomped off. I heard The Voice as soon as he had left. “I summon your strength, love, bravery. I summon your courage and bitterness to defeat your enemies. To make you a sacred god, I call upon Tarecia, goddess of revenge and love to help you complete this quest.” I rose up, feeling healthy and strong again. “You are wrong Patt, you always, always knew this was coming.” I stalked out of the cave and found snow falling from the sky. “Serafina! No snow, it weakens what I have left of my powers!” My friend came out of the cave and laughed, “It wasn’t me!” She hurled snow at me and ducked when I returned the favor. “Really? It wasn’t you? Who could it be then? Me?” Serafina looked sad and sympathetic when she replied, “I’m sorry Vi, you know I didn’t mean t-” I was angry at my friend, “Didn’t mean to kill her, and then add snow to the burn and erase my powers?” Serafina had her head hung down, “Vi, you know I would never do that. It was Allet controlling me!” I shrugged, “No, that happened after, you know that!” I started crying. I used to have the power of a god, but Serafina had erased my powers, and poisoned my sister the major goddess, Tarecia. My brother, Patt had loved Tarecia so much. He held me responsible for her death, even though he knew that Serafina was the one who caused it. I paused, listening. I didn’t hear Serafina any longer. “Fina?” No answer. I stood up and looked around. In place of Serafina stood a shivering form of someone who knew all too well, I didn’t want to see him.  “Violet Francee Delarate, so nice to see you.” He said this with mock pleasure in his voice that made me angry. “Sobate! Get out of here, now!” I threw snow at him but he only laughed. “Now that’s no way to talk to your father Violet.” I shook my head, “You aren’t my father Sobate!” My enemy laughed again, “Then who am I?” I screamed with rage, “Are you challenging me?” Sobate nodded his head, “I am.” I rubbed my hands together, Sobate was challenging me to find his secret name, his ren. If I couldn’t name him, I would die. I focused, concentrating hard on his life. He was definitely evil, and he was Allet's henchman so... “I name you, Allet’s Servant. I name you, Servant of Evil, the Ugly of Storms.” The god of evilness roared in outrage and pain. “No!” I laughed in his face as he started shrinking back into the Dungeon. I was pretty proud of myself for defeating him, for now. But I had to get back to my quest. I needed my powers back and I needed my sister back. But both of those things seemed so impossible. But if I had the help of Mialera the goddess  of quests and power then maybe I could get back my powers. By the way I was a minor goddess but had a lot of power stored inside me. I'm not like other goddesses I have a different type of magic. Instead of being the goddess of revenge, beauty, hatred, love, or even power I was the goddess of usefulness. I could talk to the trees and the animals. I could levitate small and large objects, I could create force fields. Back when I still had power people would come to me all the time, asking all sorts of different things. One time an old lady came to me and asked if her cat liked the food she was giving it. I was almost invincible, only one thing could destroy me, snow. It seems so petty I can be destroyed by snow. But it's true and you might be thinking about how I survived winter. I simply put a gigantic so forcefield around everywhere I went. Also I did this before any snow started falling so now, there was never any snow on the ground. Serafina is the goddess of snow and fortune. She could tell that Allet was going to control me and put my powers to his will. She also saw other terrible things that she refuses to explain. So she tried to protect me and my sister by hurting us. She poisoned my sister's drink so that she would die peacefully in her sleep, and she erased my powers too. Allet was furious and he took control over Serafina. He made her kill children and then curse the parents to never forget their child's death all the while making them live forever. It was terrible punishment for  her for she never liked violence and would remember this forever. Allet cursed and killed a few more gods and peasants and then left promising to return soon. It seemed to easy that we told Allet to leave and he left. I had no doubts that he would be planning to defeat the whole world now. So I need to get my powers back and also my sister. So I set out on a quest.
