While growing up in the central continents, all Javan had was poverty. Fighting, stealing and killing to survive, is all life seemed to have for him. It seemed mainlanders are not afforded the same sort of stability the youth of Venzeca take for granted. The scenes shocked Els to her core, growing up in Venzeca all she has known is abundance and the loving warmth of her community. However all Javan knew was struggle.
Els continues to watch enthralled - there was a young boy, in nearly every memory. That must be his brother, deduced Els wrongly, but not without good reason.
Although the two lived, breathed and acted like siblings they were not brothers at all. Growing and surviving together in such difficult conditions had given the two a bond deeper than blood, but like many born in the mainlands, their story starts as orphans. As far back as Javan can remember he remembers Suma - he doesnโt even know what his parents look like - but Suma was always there; fighting and defending each over at all times, even when the other was in the wrong.
Suma - Sumatran, is that his name? The name randomly popped into her mind. Els could feel the warmth in Javan's heart double any time Sumatran graced the main view.
There was one memory however she could not understand. It was quick and hazy, all she could make out was a mountain and an intense power. The mysterious place changed their bodies, warped their minds, gave them their awe inspiring power, and an even stronger bond.
This place it remade them, turning them into true brothers and immortal demons. Mt. Ohm - the revelation almost made Els break her connection to Javan - she barely managed to refocus and catch the next wave of memories.
A few decades quickly flew past - the brothers rampaged across the central continents, plundering, destroying and picking fights with the strongest opponents they could find. This lead to the chase which ended in Venzeca.
Exhausted, Els struggled to maintain her composure, but stubbornly refused to break the connection.
A few moments more, just a few so I can witness what happened.
Another wave of memories poured over her, swamping every part of her being. The demonic pair swam to Venzeca after being dropped into the southern seas. This was not their aim and would only be a small respite for the pair. Recharged and bravery brimming the brothers turned on their tormentors, and a mighty battle erupted. Hundreds died in the initial attack and thousands more as the fight raged across Venzeca - from the Eastern shore to the center of Lonston. Before anyone could react the city walls were breached and path towers toppled; numerous more innocents were slaughtered. Eventually the situation was contained, as people were evacuated and the final battle ensued between the demons, their pursuers and Venzecan warriors.
Itโs unfair we fought well, dese rotten morties even managed to break our Tarromilz power up, with a dast light. Now wer dun for.
Then the sudden appearance of the Gods. Their presence washed the atmosphere with an intimidating infinite kirah.
I'm trapped with our enemies and surrounded by dis slazer godโs barrier, at dis point were both exhausted, thought Els. Even us demons feel fear, ei, too low on energy.
โDese Quorth scluffs, chase us all de way ere, an now...โ. They switched focus to the divine pair of Gods above.
The gods had them all out matched, with what little stamina they have left, they are no match for two warrior class gods. The one named Denaar released a mantra and the air around the two turned to steam; it seemed an obvious ploy to draw in the gods and hide their intentions. In response the gods ignited the walls of the barrier, each radiating an intense white hot heat, it was like they had been dropped into the heart of Kallel; the heat rocketed to catastrophic levels in a second. Again the demons were to be bathed in a blistering pillar of energy, this one many times more powerful than the Venzecan attack.
I react fass, blazin a feeld, counterin de hot wit mi own powah, coverin Suma.
โAaaaaragh!โ, they scream in unison, the immense strain tearing Javan's every fibre apart was now becoming a very real strain on the mind Els.
As the intensity of white hot barriers grew, Javan's wavering field shrunk dramatically - Els reached out with her heart in the same instance that Javan reached out with a hand to Sumatran, her mind was becoming one with Javan's. They both stared into Sumatran's eyes as their energy waned critically. No longer protected - Sumatran disintegrated in front of them. Instantly dispersing into bright orange fizzing embers; leaving not even one speck of ash.
โNoooooooooooโ, they screamed. Els heart cried out in sorrow, while Javan bellowed in anger, they both felt the rage.
Before Javan's cries could die out, a huge purple flaming pillar shot up through the air shattering the barrier around them. Javan did not take a second to think, mustering all the energy he had - his transformed form reverted to its beastly best - he then launched himself into the sky.
Allowing his rage to take hold, Javan invoked a suicidal attack. With little kirah left, he forcefully pulled the reserves of his immortal vigour to the surface and ignited his entire being. He will burn brightly for a moment; regardless of the success of his attack, he will not live for long, his life and power will now only last as long as his will.
Dose frag gods, dey killed Suma, dey muss die, raged Els, embracing the fury and power of a desperate Javan.
We ave to get closs - I don ave powah lef, they thought. From the bottom of her heart Els was not only rooting for Javan, but bled with him.
The godly pair looked down calmly from their cloud seats. The fiery one eventually stepped off his cloud to meet Javan.
Pure arrogance, thought Els her mind clouded in a bias red haze; she now hated the gods with extreme prejudice.
Their hatred for the gods bubbled and spilled over. โDie yuh slazers!!โ, screamed the Javan and Els combo.
The short tempered godโs robes flitted about him as he casually fell through the air. The god waited until he was close enough to touch Javan, then opened his fiery three eyes, his skin built to a powerful white glare.
This is the one, thought Els. โROOOOOOOAR!โ, roared Javan and Els, igniting the air around themselves and the stunned god.
The blast was massive and a direct hit, or so they thought. The two were met with a crushing, white hot blast. Sent hurtling downwards - they left a trail of tears and regrets as they fell towards the ground; damning their weakness, the dast Quorth Knights and the slazer Pantheon.
Javan's memories had shown numerous gods being dismantled by him and his brother; it was a bitter blow to be dying at the hands of a god. The pitiable fate of Javan: lived the life of a demon, born into nothing and wanting the world, was now left broken and defeated. In truth the fight was not fair, not only were they provoked, but also ambushed. Els fell from the sky with Javan, their minds one, they look up at the god that killed their brother and defeated them, and silently wept. At leass Iโll be joinin im, they thought, and a slight ease fell over them.
However their short moment of peace was soon shattered - as a twisted laugh screeched through the sky. Kumi had come to twist the knife. Their momentary peace dissipated and their hearts sank; Kumi's wickedness easily out classed the most evil of demons. The next sensation they felt was a forceful blast of pure malice; wrapping them in an ice cold beam of energy, and sweeping them away. The force and velocity of the blast smashed them through a sky touching Path tower, then outer wall of Lonston - leaving Javan to crash down in the wilds of Venzeca.
The next thought was not a thought, but a feeling of vicious agony. As soon as they touched the ground, the torquere kicked in; their bodies begin to tear, and minds break - before then reforming. Each time coming back together smaller and less complete. Their immortality makes the torquere last longer then it should, it fights to keep Javan together.
Next came the reliving of their life, over and over. The worse parts becoming more and more frequent, and the best memories being erased with each cycle. Leaving them with only the horrors left on show. The times they killed the righteous, old, young, innocent and even deserving; all their inner demons laid bare. But the harshest of all, their grief and biggest regret. The anguish of seeing their brother being torn apart in front of them, and their weakness. Javan refused to let go of four names: Kumi D'Hono, Denaar, the Pantheon and Narrcicus; cursing them until his end.
While Els mind became completely absorbed into Javan's hate, her body lay on the ground beside the sphere, metres from the radius of the contracting bubble. She was in very real danger of losing her mind once the torquere runs its course.
โDinโt wann te go te de dast meeting... An nah look. Shouldโve killed dem in Subterrahโ, said Else and Javan.
โWhy are you so attached too everything?โ, whispered a voice.
โDey kill Suma! My bruvvaโ, screamed Els in reply, her voice harrowed by her loss.
โYour brother, okay. But who are those people who chased your fake brother?โ, asked the voice.
โFake? Yuh must wanna die... Dey were Kumi and Denaar and... Na, Nar - Narrcicusโ, states an unsure Els.
โLost child, nosey girl. How can you do anything without power?โ, laughed the voice.
โNosey?... Girl?!โ, replied Els, puzzled. Who says that, Els tried to recall, the multi layered voice jogging her memory.
โYou are really lost, close your third eye, before you dieโ, the voice states.
โMy third eye... It isn't open, where am I? Why is it cold and hot?โ, Els blurted the questions without pause for thought.
The lack of a reply only frustrated her further, but the voice had blown away some of the haze. Els slowed her mind, to retrace her steps. Tiny glimpses of another life came to her.
The more she tried to drag the memories to the surface, the more other memories of the lifetime spent as Javan bobbed to the top, flooding the forefront of her mind. Almost becoming lost in the sea of hate and regret, she forced her eyes open, and all three opened to a vision clouded by a fiery purple haze, and a body seized by agony. Squinting through the fog, she made out two silhouettes standing over a very familiar but weakening aura. The two contained an immense kirah, it radiated from every cell of their beings. It also filled Els with both dread and anger in equal measure. The two hateful figures were joined by two smaller yet vibrant souls. Els recognised them instantly.
Knoah and Judor - and that small flickering soul, on the ground between them all, thatโs me. Thatโs when she finally realised where she was and the danger she had put herself, and the others. No you must not, thought Els. I have to stop them before itโs too late. "Aaaaaaaargh", Els scream echoed around inside her mind. Extreme panic set her mind racing. Knowing Judor, he would attack, and those Gods could wipe him off the planet, without dropping a bead of sweat. Els anxiety rose, while her mind screamed.
โClose your third eyeโ, whispered the voice, once more. Amidst a multitude of thoughts, memories and heightened emotions, the voice words hit Els at her core.
