Morgan took out the keys and started looking for the right one. Frantically looking for the right one. One after another.
"It's not opening!" She said, scared to the brim.
"Watch out." Ty said running up to the car. He punched through the window and unlocked it from the inside and opened the door for Vendell and Morgan to get in. "Go get Trait." He said before running, leading the dogs away for them to get the house.
"I don't know how to drive!" Morgan said.
"Just step on the peddle, but not to hard." Vendell instructed. She did as she was told, She pressed on the peddle on turned the wheel towards the house. Stopped at the edge of the home. Trait jumped on top and crawled in through the backseat window. Morgan drove down the road to where Ty was running.
"Ty, jump on!" She yelled at him. He nodded, took out his sword and stabbed it into the trunk of the car. He held on to the sword as the car got further and further from the neighborhood. Trait had opened the back door and let Ty hall himself up onto the car. He grabbed his sword and tore it out of the back of the car.
"Could you have taken longer?" He asked rudely.
"Your strong. You could have killed them."
"i'm not about to kill a dog alright. I'm more of a cat person, but that doesn't mean I can kill a dog in cold blood. That's just not cool. It's just wrong, man." He looked away. "I could see some one was pretty scared of those dogs." He said.
"Hey. Cerberus over there chased me onto the roof. O.k. you seem to be forgetting that I don't spend all day working out and I was injected supernatural power alright."
"I wasn't talking about you." Tyler shot back. "I was talking to Vendell. Vendell looked back at him. Eyes filled with hatred. He smiled back at her. "I'm just teasing, kinda, sort of, but not really." He mumbled under his breath. " So, Morgan," he said a little more brightly,"I didn't know you could drive." She looked back, smiled and said,
"Neither did I."
Chapter 7
It was late at night.
"You want me to take the wheel?" Asked Trait.
"No, I'm fine." She yond. He could see she was on the verge of falling asleep at the wheel.
"No, your not. If you fall asleep at down the freeway then we're all done for. C'mon. Pull over, and give me the wheel." Traiten said. She looked at him gratefully and pulled the car to a stop. They both got out and switched places. Morgan got in the back and Trait got the wheel. Trait drove the rest of the night.
After an about eight hours of straight driving, Trait pulled over to a stop and decided to take a rest the for the rest of the night. When he looked back; he saw Morgan sleeping beside Tyler. He looked back up and saw Vendell was sleeping on the dashboard. He took a moment to appreciate the silents. Then, he leaned the chair back, and fell asleep.
The next day, or in Traits position, the next thirty minutes, he was shook awake.
"We're here." He woke up and saw that they were at a small hut. Vendell was already padding towards it. Morgan was already going inside. While his brother, Ty, dragging him out of the car.
"I'll tell you one thing, man, I am NOT driving tonight." Trait said as he stretched.
"The hell you aren't, no come on. We need to get inside." He walked away.
"That's easy for you to say. I drove for eight hours, my ass is asleep, and I'm tired as hell, alright. But, like the noble, honoring brother that stands before here today, I will follow you." He started to walk over to the hut reluctantly.
"So, what's this all about?" Trait heard his brother saying as he came in. "If I'm here to get a new weapon than give it to and I'll be on my way."
"Such an impatient young boy." Said an old, frail voice.
"Holy hell, it's one of them gremlin things from the Star Wars movies. What are you doing sneaking up on me like that. Morgan turned away trying to hide the smile that spread across her face.
"Dude, shut up!" Trait said to his brother. "That 'gremlin thing' might have your weapon."
"So you've told them." The frail old woman said. She was about four foot six.
"Oh my God she's old. How old are you exactly? Or, if it's too rude of a question you don't have to answer." Trait said.
"Mt name is Hellen, thank you for asking and I am three-hundred and seventy six years old." She said.
"Damn." Ty said in amazement.
"I see you've brought Eve here, too." The woman said.
"Sorry to disappoint you," Trait said,"but your childhood friends Adam and Eve are dead and have been for a long time. This here, this is Morgan." Trait said pointing at Morgan.
"So you've taken on a new name have you? Well then, Morgan, how are you."
"I'm fine grandma." Morgan replied.
"What? This is your grand mother? This troll standing right over here is your grand mother. Morgan nodded looking a little hurt. "Oh. Well then, um, this is... awkward. You know," Ty said to Morgan's grandma," I was just kidding about all that stuff I said earlier. I really didn't mean it. I'm, I'm just teasing, really." He looked pleadingly at her. Hellen understood. "Oh, I knew you were teasing the entire time. Any way, if you really want your weapon that bad, it's out side. If you walk down that trail down there, you'll come to a bush. I hid them in there. You've got your sword on you?" She asked. He lifted up part of his jacket to show the grip of the blade. "Good. Do you know how to use it." He nodded, eagerly. "Alright then. I guess you'll be on your way then." He nodded and left the hut. "That'll keep him out of our hair for a while."
"Wait, what? You mean, the sword's not really there?" Trait asked.
"SLITS." She corrected him." They are called slits. And yes, they are there alright, but it's an hours journey by foot. A ten minutes journey by car. Look outside, is he running?" She asked.
"Yeah," answered Traiten," He's running like no other."
"If he's a strong as you say he is," she looked at Vendell," then he'll be back in about thirty minutes. You can pick him up on his way back if you want. You can catch him half way if you leave here in about twenty minutes. So, is the arm the reason you have come?"
"No," said Vendell, "we've come for the map. The map to the Tomb of the Necron." Hellen looked at her."You have the map, but you won't give it to us because... Because, we haven't proved that we're really who we are." Hellen smiled. "Alright then, how do we prove our selves?" She continued to stare at her. "The boy." Vendell realized. Hellen smiled again. "But, how does he prove himself to you?" Hellen's smile quickly faded. She sat up straight, took a deep breath and said,
"He must come back with the weapon."
Chapter 8
Ty nodded then left for the trail. When he left the hut, he took one good look at the trail, and then ran. He took off faster the a race horse. Dust behind every step he took. Most of it was the gust of wind the followed him. Running. He looked back to see his brother looking at him. He looked up and pushed on even faster. Slice through the branches and leaves the clouded the trail. After about five minutes of running as fast as he was he started to get slower and slower until he walking at a very certain pace. He kept walking and walking for about ten more minutes. After that, he started to get a little uncertain. He decided that he was-. His thoughts were cut when he saw a shrine. A large table covered by a dirty white sheet. And, on top of it, were to blades. Tyler walked up them. He had one long stare, and then he picked up the blades. When held the blades curved around your knuckle. The blade was a little over six inches long. One on each hand. If used correctly, every blow was lethal.
"Damn." Ty said in shock. "This is just too awesome." And, he was right. After he picked them up, two very large statues came to life. One, dark, with a large stone sword. The other, light gray, with a large, long stone spear. They attacked. So did Ty. "Alright. I get it. If you want ride this train, then hop on board." Ty jumped forward, landing a heavy blow to the leg of the gray one, lashing out with his left hand at the dark one. The gray statue fell to one knee. Tyler ran up the dark statues sword, jumped off, and landed a blow right through the gray statues head. Ty jumped back, dodging the sword of the other. Ty through the gauntlet. It went spinning towards the statue, and ridged itself right into the head. The statue fell. Ty walked up on top of the statue to the chest, put one foot one the chin and ripped his blade out of the statue. He checked the blade.
"Not a scratch on it. These are really going to be useful." He said and set off for the hut. He jumped off and saw that a car was coming. Ty readied his blades. Ready to attack. The car skidded to a halt and then the car window opened. There, in the passenger seat, was Traiten Wraith. Ty spoke.
"You missed all the fun."
Chapter 9
Morgan was driving at the car's top speed. Which wasn't very fast at all. She drove while Traiten held his head out the window looking for his brother.
"I knew that old sack of bones couldn't be trusted. No offence." He said to Morgan. "I swear, if my brother is dead when we get there, I'm going to be so pissed."
"Vendell says he can survive. I trust her. You should too. She may be a cat and a little unsettling at times, but she would never purposely turn on some one. She is a sorcerer, a good one at that, who has made an oath to fight evil, and has held that oath for fifty years. And she's not looking to break it any time soon."
"Well, she better be right." They drove through leave and bushes, laying them flat on the ground as they went by. "Didn't Hellen say that these woods would be protected if disturbed." He got his answer. Not from Morgan. But from the balled man in black that landed on the hood of the car. He dented the hood. Morgan spun out of control and the car tipped. They rolled upside down, back up, and upside down again before they came to a stop. Trait crawled out. Morgan was unconscious. He turned around to look. His leg was sprained. He limped all they way around the car to the driver's side. He tried pulling Morgan out, but then, the man in black came back.
"Halt!" He said. "Who are you and why are here? Answer the question without taking another step or I will make sure your leg is permanently injured. I care not for your whore. Now tell me, what is your name?" He demanded. Trait straightened.
"It's not opening!" She said, scared to the brim.
"Watch out." Ty said running up to the car. He punched through the window and unlocked it from the inside and opened the door for Vendell and Morgan to get in. "Go get Trait." He said before running, leading the dogs away for them to get the house.
