The life of a Teenage Career

β€œIt’s time to become a champion.” β€œYou need to think about your future.” These aren’t things that and eleven year old kid usually hears.
My family revolved around Drag Racing, My dad had become very well known in the Northwest and when I turned eleven he decided it was time for me to be too. I purchased my first Junior Dragster when I was ten years old and by the time I was eleven I was racing. The first year or so was mostly for fun since the family was focused on my dad’s Top Alcohol Dragster. By the time I turned thirteen I bought my second race car, It was a huge step up from the first one but this meant I had to step up a class with the older kids. I was a thirteen year old racing eighteen year old kids who had been racing since they were eight. During this time period when I wasn’t at the track my mom was always talking about cheer teams, As you’d guess I was a cheerleader too. β€œWe need to think about scholarships.” That is the sentence I heard repeatedly. So between Championships and Scholarships I was a busy and stressed out girl. On top of all of this my best friend was my cousin, He had just graduated high school and moved out. This meant I was going into high school my freshman year alone. The first week of school was exhausting, But the first weekend I went out to the track and got licensed in a Junior Comp car. With a new license this meant I needed a new car for the following season, So during the winter we had one built. All through the winter cheer was crazy, Non stop four-hour practices, and At least one competition a weekend. When April came I knew I needed to find a way to balance cheer and racing. April eventually came and I was at the Drag Races every weekend competing in two classes, Junior Lightning and Junior Comp. My dad was competing at every race too so the weekend were extremely busy. A month later I found out my dad was racing a national event in Las Vegas the same weekend I had a cheer competition there. I flew down with my cheer team, We had a very exciting night. The next day was Friday, I had to hit the race track. That day had went well but it was Saturday I was worried about. Saturday morning my cheer team warmed up at seven o’clock am. We competed at ten then I had to rush to the race track to see my dad’s first round then rush back to the competition for the awards ceremony. My team ended up taking third in the Nation and my dad lost second round. This is as far as my life has come so far. Last racing season I was track champion and I have a college scholarship waiting for me in Kentucky. Looks like I started my career early.
