Water. The substance that made everyone think it's safe. Clear, blue water. The moment I slipped, everything stopped, my heart, my mind, everything. That one second where everything goes quiet. Nothing felt worse...nothing. I couldn't think. When I started falling, everything went slower, like slow motion, the laughter of children playing in the sand, building sandcastles or finding shells as if it was treasure, families cathing up on old times, everyone having a good time, was getting fainter and fainter. Water looked like it was flying. Little drops hit the surface of the sea, making it look like it was raining .
I felt dizzy.
Water was rushing through my ears, my eyes were stinging so bad that I wanted to close them but I didn't, they were stuck. I could feel myself slowly drifting down to the bottom of the pool. Water was weighing down on me but it felt like people were pushing me down.
I tried to swim but everytime I moved my arms they just drifted back to me. I was to weak. I was trying to fight the water but it was too strong. Thinking of my heartbeat which was getting faster and faster and louder and louder. Panicking even though it made things worse. I could slightly hear my name being called out. My eyelids we slowly closing, I couldn't think anymore. My mind...went..blank. I...was.......
I woke up on a tile floor. I could just see some people but everything was still blurry. My head was hurting. I could smell toast....people were talking, someone was checking my pulse..who was it? I couldn't figure it out. Trying to blink so my eyes would open more. I could hear someone crying but I couldn't think of the person. People were hugging me. I couldn't help but think....what happened?
