Chapter 1
Stars


Stars are made of hot liquid gasses. They give off heat and light. Have you ever looked at the sun? Have you ever noticed that the sun looks brighter than other stars. That is because the sun is closer than other stars. The sun is also brighter because you cannot see other stars during the day. The sun is much bigger than Earth, even though it looks small. The sun is important to earth because it gives us heat and light.


Chapter 2
Planets

Every planet in the solar system orbits the sun at a different speed. This table(bottom)shows the time it takes the inner planets to orbit the sun.

The planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto(Dwarf).


Chapter 3
Mission to Mars

NASA wants to learn more about Mars so they send probes to it. Mars and Earth are alike in many ways. Water is one thing that Mars needs to support life. Another is oxygen.
