โMia, sweetie, I brought here something for you,โ Henry put my favorite cakes on the table and strangely narrowed his eyes. โI just canโt come up with another way to distract you from working and send you home to have a rest. Maybe at least your love of sweets will help me with it.โ
โThank you, love,โ I kissed my husband on the lips without looking at him and quickly returned my attention to the presentation on the laptop, โYou know, itโs really a very important project for me,โ I tried to justify my late stay in the company.
I liked what I was doing so much. Namely, I was developing designs for the landscape of Henryโs new hotel.
โAw, Christ!!โ I heard an angry roaring near me.
Yikes! I jumped in my chair, being startled.ย
Here we goโฆ I rolled my eyes helplessly.ย Apparently, the man lost his self-control.
โMy own wife, whom I have not been able to drive home already for a week and spend a quiet evening with, chooses working over me! Well, who would have thought!โ my man grumbled, pacing nervously from side to side. โThatโs it! Iโm fed up with it! Get ready. From tonight, I will actively begin to deal with the issue of sending you soon on maternity leave.โ
Suddenly, my hand hovered over the laptop, and I smiled mischievously.
It seems that Henryโs dream will come true a little earlier.
I began to guess that I was in a delicate condition, at the moment when the last few days, I became a frequent visitor to our office toilet room. I was sick of any pungent smells, perfumes, food from our cafe, etc.
My guess was confirmed this morning when I decided to do a pregnancy test. I had no idea how Henry would react, and I was worried about it. I thought he might not want children.
I wanted to tell my husband the news at home, but once he started talking about it himself.
โHenry, Iโm pregnant,โ I blurted out quickly.
The man stopped moving so abruptly that he almost fell, tripping over his own foot.
A moment later, Henry was already hugging me tightly, frantically covering my face with quick kisses.
โYou know, after you said โyesโ to me that time, I didnโt think Iโd ever be happier,โ he confessed suddenly, โbut I think I was wrong. I love you so much, angel. And you, too,โ he added in a gentle voice, putting his hand on my stomach.
Well, and how could you not fall in love with this perfect man?!
