The first day of Summer Stella and her parents decide to go to the beach. Stella is so excited that she can wear her new pink and white shirt, black shorts, and her new flip-flops. The beach was Stella's favorite place to go. They got into the car and Stella buckled up this time. "Everybody buckled up?" Mom would always ask. Now, she looks around cause she remembers when Stella lies. Mom drove out of the driveway and drove down the street. Later at the beach, Stella runs to a spot to make sand castles and find shells. Stella found the perfect spot. First, she built a sand castle, then she stood there looking around. Then, something caught her eye, Hanna. She saw her not a mermaid. Hannah sees Stella and runs over to her. "Remember me? I am the mermaid." Hannah says. "Yes I do, you were the one who had a magic fairy!" Stella remembers. Stella was excited to see Hanna again. Hanna smiled and thought about searching for shells again. "Want to search for some more shells?" Hanna asks hoping for a yes, smiles, and pats Stella's shoulders. "Yes! That's gonna be more fun!" Stella says very excited. Stella gets up and one flip-flop falls off her foot. "Oops, wait!" Stella yells. Hanna stops and looks into space. Stella gets on the flip-flop and walks with Hanna.
They had 10 shells all together and they looked at each one. They sat in the sand and lays down every shell in 2 groups, 5 on top,and 5 on bottom. "That's the crazy fish shell." Stella says. She is pointing at the first shell, which is pink. "Listen to it." Hanna says. Hanna puts the shell to Stella's ear, "What do you hear?" Stella listens closely. "I hear the ocean!" Stella says excited. "That shell is the Aisha." Stella says. She points at the 5th shell. Hanna nods and smiles. "Well, I got to get back to the ocean." Hanna says. "Oh, wait one important thing, keep the shells in that bag okay, if you lose them, you'll no longer see me." Hanna says. Stella nods and keeps it a promise. The next day, Stella wakes up a little early than she was supposed too. Stella picks up the bag filled with the shells. She has the saying in her mind replaying, "Oh, wait one important thing, keep the shells in that bag okay, if you lose them, you'll no longer see me." It kept replaying in her head. Stella promised and she would not lose them. Mom wakes up and stretches. Mom walks in the hall and is confused. "What is in the bag?" Mom asks. "Shells, I found some at the beach with my friend Hanna, she is a mermaid." Stella says. "I doubt she is a mermaid. I don't believe in fairy tales." Mom says. "It is true! You have no proof, bxtch!" Stella cussed. Mom got angry and smacked Stella's mouth. "Young lady, you watch your language! I just woke up and now your being a smart-ass!" Mom yells. Mom walks into the kitchen and puts some coffee in her coffee cup. Stella cries noiseless. Mom goes back into the living room and relaxes in the recliner. Stella looks at Mom changing the channel. "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?" Mom yells. Stella gets back on the couch with the bag and goes back to sleep. Mom tiptoes to the couch and grabs the bag and goes outside. Mom throws the bag into the dumpster and goes back inside. Now it seems like Stella can't be with Hanna again. Stella wakes up 2 hours later and sees the bag gone. "Mom? Where is the bag?" Stella asks. "Hanna came over and wanted it." Mom lies.
Stella looked at her and smiles. "I'm sorry for what I did." Stella says. "Okay." Mom says and hugs her.
Even though Hanna and Stella haven't been together for 6 years, they can meet online.
The end.
