Dear Parent or Guardian,

You are receiving this letter because your child has not turned in one or more library items or paid a library fine that he/she owes. This matter needs to be taken care of before the end of the school year. Your child has received two notices over the past two weeks about this and no action was taken. Therefore, I met with your child to help him/her develop a plan for taking responsibility for the items or fines owed. Your child has agreed to:

• Find and return the item(s) by _______
• Pay for the items with either cash or a check (made out to ROBMS) by _______
• Work off the items after school at minimum wage rate by _______ (if this choice is selected, the attached contract must be signed and returned by May 28)

I ask that you sign and return this letter to me by Friday, May 28, to show that your child has informed you of his/her obligations. I would also appreciate your help in reminding your child to follow through with his or her obligations.

All students who do not return this letter to me by May 28 OR do not meet the obligations agreed to in the letter will be assigned an after-school detention until 4:00 on June 3 or 4. During this time students will work on cleaning-type tasks to begin to pay off their debts.
