Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a girl called Goldie.
Goldie lived in a little cottage out in the country side.
One morning Goldie made some porridge for herself, but it was way too hot. She decided to go for a quiet stroll on her own so that when she got back it would be just right.
Before Goldie left, she made sure her newly and improved traps were set up. There were always burglars around and you never knew when they were going to... POUNCE!
So she swapped her ordinary porridge for a super duper spicy hot sauce porridge! She also put some pins on a chair, but Goldie couldn't hide them in plain sight so she very carefully stuck a big, fluffy blanket over the top. She was good to go. Then Goldie set off over the hills and not too far away.
That is when they came..........
Three burglars approached the cottage as soon as the coast was clear and went inside. They decided to split up, one went into the kitchen, one in the living room and one upstairs.
Burglar number one was feeling a bit peckish. When he heard his tummy start to rumble, he headed for the kitchen. In the kitchen, there was a huge bowl porridge. The burglar saw the bowl and thought, I will only have a little bit so they won't notice any of the porridge has gone.
He sat down, took a spoonful of porridge and swallowed it. Very Suddenly his mouth started burning ( because of the hot sauce ) he didn't know what to do so he ran out of the house and jumped straight into the stream to cool down.
Only two burglars left......
Burglar number two was looking for something valuable to steal but it was tiring. He found a chair that had a pretty, little blanket on it in the living room and so as any one would do he sat down on the chair to think where to look next.
Suddenly.....He screamed as all of the pins shot up his bum! The pain was terrible, but he deserved it. So guess where he went... yes he went... ow ow ow ow ow ow all the way home!
Only one burglar left.......
Burglar number three was feeling very sleepy after searching every room for jewels, money and all that palava. He went into the biggest bedroom and found a big, comfy bed to have a lie down on.
Slowly the burglar fell asleep, but little did he know, Goldie had just arrived back home to eat her porridge. Oh no.
Goldie saw that her front door was open, so she tipptoed inside. There was nothing to be seen, nothing at all. In the distance she could hear something... a... snore? So Goldie crept upstairs to investigate. Opening her bedroom door she saw the burglar fast asleep. She thought to herself, I will teach him a lesson not to steal from me.
Goldie went to her dressing room and dressed up as a vampire. She had picked out the costume from last Halloween and put it on. Goldie put some gummie vampire teeth in her mouth and squeezed ketchup on herself to look a bit like blood. She was ready.
Very carefully Goldie crept into the bedroom and into the wardrobe. Goldie then made some banging sounds and the burglar woke up startled by the sound. When he started to get up she ran out towards him. He turned round, saw Goldie and ran for his life out of the house.
Goldie felt happy she had taught the burglar a lesson, she then called the police and told them what had happened. They said they would find them and very quickly they they did. The police locked them up for two weeks because in the end they didn't steal anything. They had also learnt their lesson and promised never to steal anything again.
While all this was happening Goldie got her warm porridge and ate it.
Guess what....
it was just right.
