We had to put on one of those hospital gowns that you see on TV. When the nurse was done doing what she was supposed to do, she told me that I needed to sit up on the bed and put my feet on these things called stirrups. And that is what I did when the nurse left I sat like that for at least 20 minutes and then the doctor finally came in. “Alright all I want you to do is sit back and relax, this is only going to pinch just a little and that is all.” He told me.

He went through the process as fast as he could without contaminating the evidence. Although I could not figure out why they were collecting all this anyway. The only reason that I could come up with is that he lived through what happened with her fireball blast and they are putting him on trial for what he did to me. I didn’t worry about that too much I was more worried about what Zane thought of me since he found out that I was forced to drink human blood. Even if it was against my will, Zane still thought that it was disgracing our parents. I may never actually have met our parents, but he and ReShuan did. They knew them and loved them. That is something that I will never be able to do.

Chapter 4- Gaining Something New

When he got back to the main portion of the building, where I was to stay for the next four months. I was just glad that I didn’t have to keep wearing that stupid hospital gown. When I was done making us something to eat, I sat down next to Guardian Teno. “How pissed off is Zane? I mean I know you probably don’t know, but I am just thinking that he just hates me now. Honestly I doubt that there is anything that I can do to change the fact that he hates me. I brought this on myself; I should’ve fought harder or fought back. Or just did something else than scream in pain, like a coward in the corner. God I am just so stupid, I just wish that I could change anything that I did. I can practically hear him now ‘Why didn’t you fight him or move when the blood came near you? Why didn’t you spit it back up or through it back up?’ I know Zane has to hate me but that is only because I hate myself right for drinking human blood.” I told her with tears going down my face.

All she could do was look at me with such sorrow and pain. She understood where I was coming from with asking about my brother like that. “I’m afraid I am not allowed to tell you that. Part of the rules here are that I can’t tell you anything that I talk about outside of this building. Another thing is that I am going to need to inform you of the fact there is a fully equipped gym here that is at your disposal, however there is one rule for that. And, it is that if we see that you are working out too hard or when you wake from a nightmare and you use it for target practice you are to tell one of us to watch over you. So that we can keep an eye on your wounds so that if they were to open back up we could get you to the medical wing quicker. We aren’t going to stop you from working out whatever energy that you need to get rid of. All right, I am going to go talk to the doctor, um… Guardian Roberts is going to take over watch till I get back ok? Also none of this is going to change your role at the academy, you're still the head student and academy pack's Alpha.” She informed me before walking over to the door and letting in Guardian Roberts.

“Um… I’m going to go work out in the gym. Is that ok?” I asked Guardian Roberts.

“Yeah that’s fine.” Guardian Roberts said.

I went to the closet that has all the exercising and lazy outfits that a girl like me could want. And it also includes tennis shoes and lots of socks. When I decided what I was going to wear and started to work out, Guardian Roberts asked if I needed anyone to hold the bag while I went at it. I said sure why not. We were four hours into exercising when Guardian Teno came back in with the doctor. At first we didn’t hear anything. But them she knocked on the wall.

“You’re going to want to come sit down in here and listen to the doctor.” She said as I just looked at her with as much of confusion as everything else.

After I got my water bottle and sat down in the living room across from the doctor but next to Guardian Teno. Guardian Roberts left the room with as quickness as I had sat down.

“I need to first tell you that we won’t know whether you are pregnant or not for another two days. I am sorry about that, by the way. The next thing that I need to inform you of is that your wounds are completely gone inside and out. And that worries me. I know you had some human blood, but the amount that you are claiming to have isn’t adding up to the amount that it would take to heal those wounds that fast. I know you were probably just telling us that it was only a cup for your brothers. But, we need to know the truth.” He said.

“I can promise you that it was only a cup of human blood nothing more nothing less. I wish it were none at all. But, that is not something that I would lie about. Here, I will show you everything that happened. Only because, you are not going to believe me if I don’t.” I said as I showed them my memories and that proved that I wasn’t lying to them.

When I was done showing them those memories. The doctor just sat there and looked all confused. “Did you happen to drink anything before you started exercising? That is before the attack happening anyway.” He asked.

“Yeah, but my wound made me, so thirsty while was gone that it was starting to scare me.” I explained. To them this wasn’t so unusual, but to me this was not something that I was used to period. However, I knew that I could find way to deal with what was happening.

“Well, that concludes the evening’s ridiculous procedures and now we are going to let your family some see you. Hey, look the doc will figure all this out.” She told me as ReShuan and Huegi walked through the door.

I honestly can’t say that I didn’t hope for Zane to walk in with them, but I knew why he wasn’t. That was when I had to tell myself that I was going to have to come to peace with him hating me for life. “Hey, babe what’s wrong?” Huegi asked.

“Nothing, I was just wondering who all was going to come and see me that’s all. How is Zane doing, ReShuan?” I asked about ready to cry again.

“Um… he told me to tell you that he will see when you are able to come home again. He doesn’t think that that it is a good idea to come here. After hearing that you drank you human blood. I tried to talk him into coming but he wouldn’t budge on the issue.” He explained to me.

I sat back down and finally started crying. “Hey, it’s going to be ok, you know. He’ll get over this and come and see you before then.” Huegi told me trying to calm me down.

“No, he’s not. I am almost one hundred percent certain that he will try everything to stay away from me when I get home. This isn’t fair; it was forced down my throat. I didn’t want to drink it. Could you ask him if I could live with Huegi after this? I don’t to go to house where my own brother hates me so much that he finds ways to stay away from me. Where I am hated by my oldest brother, for something that I had no control over. I tried fighting him. But with my wound and everything, there wasn’t anything that I could do. I tried to stop it. You know, I am very tired, can you both go. I just want to shower and go to bed. Sorry for wasting your time. I’ll see you at school tomorrow.” I told them.  

And for the next twenty four hours I laid in a new bed, and looked at the ceiling wondering what I could have done differently. How I could stopped any of this from happening. It wasn’t until I got out of bed to eat something that I found someone sitting in the facilities living room. It wasn’t until that moment that it hit me that when Guardian Teno said that there would be someone here watching my every move that she wasn’t joking. She had decided to have Guardian Selle watching at the moment, but I may never know who she had prior to her. I went to the kitchen to find something to eat, and found that Cleopatra was eating something similar to what I was wanting to fix for myself.
