CHAPTER ONE

They were all sitting on callie's front porch, Callie, De'wayne Carter, and there sister, Melissa. They sat on the porch talking and passing a cigarette bud back and forth. "I am so board." Melissa said, as she inhaled a mouthful of smoke. Aren't we all." Callie took the cigarrette out of Melissa's fingers. "No man seriously, we need to do something before school start up again." Melissa said. We are doing something, we are all sharing my

cigarrette bud." Callie said. De'wayne took the bud out of her hands. "It's not technally your's since I bought the cigarrette box." De'wayne said. She snatched the bud back and inhaled.
"Ok, so why don't we go to the beach?" Cater asked. He took the cigarrette. "Yeah I guess I would be down with that, you know, if we weren't nine miles away from the beach." Callie plucked him in his head. "We do have a car you know." De'wayne said. She jerked her head back and squinted her eyes. "Do you want me to pluck you to?" She asked. He chuckled. "So beach It is then." Melissa stood up. They all shared glances and then nodded.,well look its getting late, we should get going." De'wayne said. Callie looked at her Phone clock. "Wayne', It nine fifteen, my sister isn't even asleep yet." Callie laughed. De'wayne, Carter and Melissa looked at each other. "I got stuff to do Cal'." He said.
"What stuff is so important it can't wait til' tomorrow." she said swinging his arm back and forth. He chuckled. See you tomorrow Callie." He said. She rolled her eyes. Bye callie. Melissa and Carter said, but he said it in a much slyer voice. Callie waved as she watched them drive down the street. She threw her cigarrette bud in the grass in front of her house and exhaled. On her way into the house, she noticed that is smelled like fondent, a texture used for cakes, whiuch wasn't a surprise since her parents owned a bakery downtown. Callie made it to the Kitchen fridge, but when she opened it, Nothing was there, but cakes. two layer cakes and flat square cakes. There was a Gold note with the familiies last name imprinted on on it. She took the note out of the fridge and said on the couch.

Callie, make sure kree doesn't eat any of these cakes, there for my orders, also, check on the three layer cakes in the deep freezer- Mom

She tossed the note to the side. She frankly didn't care, her parent's were never home anyway. She turned on the Tv. SheDin't really pay any attention to the moving pictures on the screen, she was still curious about De'wayne and his so called stuff that he had to do. "Are mom and dad home yet?" Kree asked as she came downstairs. Callie, shook her head. Kree sat on the couch across from her and slouched deeply into it. "I'm hungry Callie." Kree said looking deep into Callie's face. Callie just sat still and blinked slowly. "Uh, Your eleven years old, make your own food." Callie said as she got up and went to the steps. "Oh, and mom said something about not eating the cakes." Callie said as she jogged her way to her bedroom.
