coffee table unless she was in her room; she had to find something to do while she was pregnant. She hated being stuck in the house or around the yard. She wanted to go again but where could she go? When she left the house people would stare at her and that made her feel awkward.
Lana would say,” who cares what these folks think? We know what kind of girl you are and that is all that matters, well that and I love.” Tara felt the love from her mother, it was just she knew that her mother put on tough skin when she went in public with their daughter since she was 16 and pregnant. Tara felt a tear escape and roll down her cheek. She didn’t mean to put her mother in this tight spot. She is a waitress at a little diner not too far from where they live, it is actually about two blocks so Lana usually walked to work, unless the weather did not permit it and she was too tired to stand.
Tara started texting Jamie again, she told her sorry that she kept bothering and if she really didn’t want to answer back she didn’t have to. Too much of Tara’s surprise Jamie did text back and told her she was going to come see here right now; yea she had heard that before so until she knocks on the door she would just sit here bored, watching TV, and thinking of something she could do.
Tara felt herself drift off to sleep and snapped her eyes open at the same time she heard someone knock on the door. She unfolded herself from the couch and answered the door to a smiling Jamie; she looked like she was on the verge of crying.
“Come in and sit down. What is wrong?”
“Oh Tara I am so sorry that I was so mean to you. I have missed you so much; I don’t know why I have been so mean like the others. Will you forgive me please?” Jamie begged.
Tara had tears in her eyes as well, she felt like her life was coming together a little bit now. She stuttering when she tried to speak and she was having hard time breathing, taking in big gulps of air. She never cried like this so she didn’t know why she was doing so now. She looked at Jamie and told her,” sit down and let’s talk its long overdue.”
They chatted for hours about every topic they could burn through before Jamie said, “I am sorry but I have to go, I have a date tonight. Though you are pregnant I gave this cute boy Doug your phone number. You can have a text buddy or something.” Jamie smiled before getting up kissing Tara on the top of her head and walking out the door.
Tara couldn’t believe Jamie would really give her cell number to any boy when she was pregnant, what would they talk about after she told him that? Oh well it would be fun for 5 minutes to see him typing away and then all of a sudden her cell phone screen turning black from no use.
She looked at the clock on the cable box and saw that it was almost time for her mother to come home from work and she couldn’t wait because she wanted to tell her that she and Jamie were friends again, she was so happy.
Tara climbed the stairs so that she could go through her closet for something she could wear for school tomorrow, jeans didn’t fit no more and neither did her skirts. She stood by the closet staring inside to see what she wanted to wear, she seen black leggings but she needed to find a shirt that would cover her ass and the little bump starting to protrude through her clothes. She could still hide her pregnancy and she loved that. She didn’t see anything in her closet so she thought, raid mom.
She walked out of her room, into the hall way, and walked to the end of the hall to her moms room, she had the perfect shirt for the leggings; a white shirt that was see through white with a white tank top underneath, it is sewed in. that would cover everything and she would stay cool enough since it was summer time still, it was so hot out right now they didn’t want to even walk to school.
She took the shirt back to her room and laid it with her leggings over the back of the chair that was in her room, it was there when she felt like being lazy and doing her make up in her room. She smiled to herself when she heard her mom come in the door, then her cell phone started going off at the same time.

Seeing Doug In Person

After she talked with her mom, she looked at her phone to see it was a text message and it was a number she didn’t know, so she replied,” who is this?”
The reply she got back she laughed but she was mad, she knew it was the boy Jamie gave her number to. She didn’t want to be mean so she read the message that read: “This is Doug. I got your number from Jamie; she said she is your best friend.” They chatted for awhile then as she knew he would the next message she got said: “Would you like to meet up pizza and a movie or just pizza?”
She didn’t want to be mean but she had to tell him that she was going to have a baby and she didn’t know when she would be dating again. She wrote him,” I am sorry about this Doug, but I cannot go out with you, Seems Jamie is playing jokes or something. I am pregnant and I don’t think I will be dating any time soon.”
She turned her phone off because she didn’t want to see the next reply that he sent. She set her phone on her bed and went looking for her mother again. She needed to see her smile and hear her voice one more time before she went to sleep, she didn’t care that she was going to have a child, she needed her mother.

“Mom I am up okay, stopping yelling. I am trying to get dressed; I will not be late my first day to a new school so I really stick out.” Tara yelled from her room. She was trying to get dressed and calm her stomach, she already got sick this morning so now she just needed her stomach to stop turning.
She walked out of her room with her back pack over both shoulders so her mother would not complain, she thinks it will make Tara walk phone and she will have problems later. “I am going to drive my own car to school so that I can just get there and get out as fast as possible.” She kissed her mother’s cheek and walked out the door. She was sitting in her hot car, rolling down her windows, and taking in deep breaths hoping she will feel better by the time she got to school.
She reached in the side pocket of her book bag to turn her cell phone off when she noticed she didn’t have her cell phone with her; she had pushed it out of her way when she climbed into bed last night. There was nothing she could do about it now so she walked into the school and saw that the class room consisted of ten people, which worked for her. She looked around the room that was to be her class room for almost a year and noticed some of the girls in here were huge; the girls were going to have their babies soon.
When she walked in the teacher asked her to sit in the empty seat next to a dark haired girl that she wasn’t going lie, she looked dirty, and Tara didn’t want to sit there but she did anyways. She walked over and sat down next to her, “Hi my name is Tara. What is your name?”
“My name is Emma.” And she was quite again. Tara sat there quietly and her homework until the bell for the end of class rang out. She did not have any homework to take home today, which made her happy.
She walked back out to her car where it was hotter than this morning. She was going to hate driving home in this heat with no air conditioner in her car. She needed to hurry home and get cell phone, she didn’t know when her mom had to go to work today and she called everyday as soon as Tara got out of school to make sure she was going straight home.
Pulling in her drive way she noticed Jamie’s car was already there, how she got out of school before Jamie did, and what is she doing here? Tara thought. Walking inside the house she heard a few different voices, she followed the voices and walked into the kitchen to see Jamie, her mother, the boy Jamie was talking to, and some new boy; that she could only assume was Doug.
“What is going on in here? Jamie what are you doing here so early and with people?” Tara snapped.
She didn’t meant snap on Jamie but she was real moody lately and she was not ready to come home to a house full of people and one boy she didn’t even know, though she knew it was Doug; the boy she had met via text.
“I am sorry Tara, I wanted you to come with me and see my mother she is in town for two weeks and I didn’t want to go alone. I will though, I am sorry again, Tara.” Jamie said o the edge of tears.
“Jamie I am sorry, it has been a long day and I am just moody. I would love to go with you; when are you going to see her?”
“Right now silly, I thought us four could go. I need you and with the boys there she will not want me to stay all night. I am not the one to leave, you know what I mean?” she asked with her voice and pleaded with her eyes.
Tara nodded her head, hugged her friend, and whispered in her ear,” Now you owe big! I do mean big!”
Tara climbed the stairs with Jamie on her heels, she wasn’t anything but from that stupid lopsided smile she had on her face and Tara knew she was thinking something. She rolled her eyes she was going to know soon enough, as soon as they were in Tara’s room Jamie let it all spill.
“Tara, what is your deal? I hope you know by telling Doug that you were pregnant did nothing to push him away. He was asking me more questions after he talked with you and you did not answer him back so he
