Chapter one: The arrival


When I woke up this early morning in Delavan, Colorado I sensed a eerie presence in the air and I was drenched in a cold sweat, after I sighed in annoyance I got up from bed and went to go take a shower. As I took off my shirt my soft auburn hair fell down to my lower back and as I removed my ’basket ball’ shorts my cream colored legs were reveled. When I finally got into the shower and the water touched my milky white skin I started to relax about the fact that this was my first day of high school. When I was finished, I brushed my teeth, dressed myself in a pair of light blue skinny jeans and a white baby tee with a blue and white jacket. Afterwards my father Derek Matthews dropped me off at North Delavan High, a boarding school for gifted children.
When I walked into the school building I felt a chill travel throughout my spine, as if someone was pouring ice down my back. Then suddenly a guy about my age who looked a bit Emo but I could tell he was more of a Scenie with porcelain skin, jet black hair and sapphire blue eyes and snake bites on his lower lip asked, with a voice as sweet as honey and a slight Australian accent “Hello, are you Jessica Matthews ?” “Yes I am, but just call me Jessie.” I answered instinctively, he then replied “Well, Jessie I will be your guide for the week. My Name is Quinn O‘Connor.” then without warning he flashed me a brilliantly white smile with surprisingly sharp canines.
He then led me to our Math class where the teacher let me introduce myself and assigned me a seat right behind a boy named William Wolf-Wood, a shy, quiet guy with honey brown hair and honey gold eyes, luckily for me I got him as a math partner, because I didn‘t really get quadratic equations.
Next he took me to Mrs. Dalv’s class, apparently she teaches History also I heard she calls her husband ‘Master‘. There I met a girl named Luna Darkmoon, she wore a pair of black jeans with a red trim a black tee shirt with a large Full Red Moon on it and, she also adorned a medium sized amulet with a sea blue crescent moon, and I heard from William that she’s always carrying a book with a pentacle on it. Something that I had noticed which made her really pretty was the fact that she had long flowing brown hair and hazel eyes.
During lunch Quinn had come up to me and said “Would you care to sit with us ?” “Sure.” I answered eagerly without meaning to. Then suddenly I felt my face begin to burn as I blushed bright red and William gave a soft chuckle that I had just barely caught.
