I cringe in panic as I see the reapers land on our tiny boat. Not so tiny I guess. I call my swords and look up to the sky. A flock of birds are flying over us. I smile and whistle. Will looks at me like I lost my mind. The birds dive toward us and their forms change into humans. All except the leader of the flock who changes form into a lioness. She roars and looks at me. I nod my head at the lioness and she understands. She charges for the reapers and rips off one head and drags it toward me. I rub her head and scratch under her chin. "Thanks Rylie. Think you can do that with me?" I whisper quickly in her ear. The lioness roars and stands at my side. "Will you take care of the ones up here! I'll go down!" I shout to Will. He still looks confused by the lioness at my side, but doesn't complain. I sprint down the steps with Rylie the lioness by my side. A form of shadows attacks me, throwing me into the table. I groan and roll onto my side just in time to see Rylie pounce on the form and draw blood. "You go girl!" I jumped up despite my aching back and rushed to the back of the shadow reaper. I thrust my khopesh swords into his back destroying his heart.
After I saw my Arch Angel brother I collapsed. My swords hit the deck and my heart felt heavy with grief. Will threw our swords into the lifeboat and gathered me up in his warm arms. I opened my eyes long enought o look over Will's shoulder to see my Best Shape-shifter friend salute me and take off into the sky. I mange a weak smile and wonder how I got so lucky to have a friend like Rylie. Always there for me. Never leaving my side.

Many months later....
I zip up my boots and slide my dagger into it's sheath. I roll my head trying to get the kinks out. My head starts pounding and I know I'm being summoned. I let my mind drift away. I trusted whatever force is summoning me. I open my eyes a second later and I'm standing in a forest. Easy! I crouch onto my hands and feet, like a runner getting into postion. I think of a lioness. My lioness within. I feel my body mold it's shape. Ta-da, shape-shifting. I open my eyes yet again and give a roar. Yes I can roar. I take off into t he forest letting my heart lead the way.
I broke into a clearing outside the forest. I skided to a stop in front of Ellie. I bow my head and look at her guardian. "Change Rylie, please." Ellie says. I nod my lioness head. I mold my body back to it's origanal shape and stand straight up.
I hug Ellie and she hugs back. "Where's your gaurdian?" I ask cautiously.
"I left him back at the bowling alley. I just needed a friend."
I crouch and leap at her turning into a lioness.
