Prologue

Tasha rested on her bed peacefully listening to music as rain fell hard on the windows illuminating her dark room blue. She looked down at her cat Muffins who was sleeping in a fluffy Tortoiseshell ball, Tasha scratched her behind the ears gently before turning her attention back to the window. Slowly the soft purring of the cat and the heavy rain fall pulled Tasha into a deep sleep...

Tasha awoke drowsily, her cat had her back arched and was hissing at the door. Tasha turned her green gaze to the door. She didn't see anyone and the dog was in her sister's room, but Muffins never really had a problem with the dog. Tasha picked up the cat carefully and tried to comfort her, Muffins claws dug into Tasha's shirt just barely breaking Tasha's skin. Tasha put down the cat on the bed and opened up the door, everything seemed normal. Tasha looked at her alarm clock and it was around dinner time, she sniffed the air but it didn't smell like anything was cooking. She walked into the hallway and went into the kitchen silently. When she came in both of her parents were on the floor lifeless......

Tasha's eyes flew open and she shot up, she found herself panting heavily and her fists were clenching the sheets. She sighed heavily before releasing her grip. She rolled out of bed lazily and looked at the clock,"time for work," she muttered under her breath. Tasha wandered into the bathroom to shower and brush her hair. When she finished she walked back to her room and fumbled around for her black converse and jacket. Before she left her room again she flashed a glance at the mirror and nearly forgot she had to do her makeup. Tasha pulled out her smokey eye kit and applied it quickly and finally stormed to the front door where she gabbed a black trench coat and her keys. She jumped into her car quickly and drove into town. Tasha was a bar tender at a bar called 'The Drunken Sailor Tavern' and hated

her job but it was the best job she could find in the area. Tasha sighed before coming in through the kitchen and sliding her card. She pulled out her name tag from her locker and shoved in her jacket before walked around the cooks to the drink mixing area, she already had 3 orders written down. She grabbed them all quickly and began to mix the drinks. She grabbed the drinks and searched for the tables. Business was always pretty slow around the time that she worked so she was glad she didn't have to rush, except on holidays it's busy all hours and almost everyone is called in to work. Her friend Cherry who was a waitress came prancing to greet her with an empty drink tray," hi, Cherry."
Tasha said dully as she cleaned spilled rum off of the counter. Cherry sat down on a chair and yawned,"hi. I think I might make an appointment to get my hair dyed a darker red, that my bring out my eyes a little to distract people from my glasses." "Why don't you just get contacts?" Tasha asked."Because it's to expensive. My health insurance doesn't cover stuff like that," Cherry replied."Well, that's too bad," Tasha folded the towel she was using and put it in a drawer under the cash register."There's a table over there that needs to be waited," Tasha pointed out."Alright, I'll see you after work,"Cherry said sweetly before returning to work.

Tasha sighed with relief when she saw the clock had struck 12:00. She dragged herself to the glowing open sign and changed it to closed. Cherry waited the last table and they left sober. Tasha and cherry cleared the table and headed to the locker rooms," oh my god finally we're done!" Cherry groaned."Until tomorrow that is." Cherry laughed and they said there goodbyes. As Tasha got in her car she noticed something in the rear view mirror, it looked like a man. She decided he'd probably just move so she put the key in the ignition and began to back up the car, the man moved.. but he was coming towards her. She stopped the car and got out,"can I help you? Or are you just trying to get hit?"
The man chuckled...
