Chapter 1

*Can you feel my heart?!?!?!*

I wake up to my alarm clock blasting a song by Bring Me The Horizon in my ears. Ugh! my first day at my new school, how fun! Not. I hop out of bed and rush to the bathroom to take a quick shower, I love the way it feels to have the hot water rush over me in the mornings. When I get out of the shower I put my clothes on, blow dry and straighten my hair, and put just a bit of make-up on. I don’t really like to glob it on my face like a lot of other girls, but then again, I’ve never really been like girls my age. I’ve never gotten along with other girls, I prefer hanging out with guys and I like skateboarding, listening to punk bands, and just chilling.

When I’m done with my make-up I run downstairs to grab a pop-tart, that’s where I hear my brother Ethan already cranking the car. I start freaking out and rush to put my shoes on and grab my bag. When I get in the car I start yelling at Ethan.

β€œDamn it Ethan! You could have told me you were coming to the car!”

β€œSorry Sam, you were taking too long”, Ethan says while backing out of the driveway.

β€œYeah, yeah. I had to grab something to eat. Anyways, it’s not like I’m in a rush to go to this stupid school anyways.” I say as he pulls up to the front entrance of Glen View High. I mean seriously, this school pretty much only takes the rich, preppy kids. I was only accepted because I do so well in my classes.

Ethan drops me off and I head inside to the main office of the school. When I walk through the door there’s a chubby woman with long, grey hair, hazel colored eyes, and red puffy cheeks waiting to greet me.

β€œHello there! You must be our new student, Ms. Winters. I’m Mrs. Hanes, the office secretary.” The woman says as she inspects me from head to toe.

β€œIt’s Sam, and yes I am new. I came to get my schedule; my mom told me you would have it for me this morning.” I reply as I begin to stare at the ground with intensity, I hate it when people stare at me like that!

She begins digging around her desk, probably looking for my schedule, when she suddenly yelps, β€œFound it! Sorry I tend to get my papers mixed up from time to time. Here’s your schedule, if you wait a moment I can find someone to show you to your first period.”

β€œOh, no thanks, I’m sure I can find it on my own.” I tell her as I walk out of the office and down the large hallway. My first class is biology in room 215, I walk around for a while counting the numbers on the doorways beside the classrooms but none of them say room 215. Finally I just give up and decide to sit in the hall until second period starts and I can get directions.

When the bell rings I go to grab my book bag from beside but all of a sudden it gets kicked across the hallway as people start rushing out the their classrooms. I stand up and start walking towards my bag when I trip on some ones foot and run into someone standing in front of me. As soon as I hit the ground I feel pain shoot through my elbow and realize that I landed on it. I sit there rubbing my elbow for a moment until I hear a high pitched voice above me. When I look up I realize it’s the girl I just ran into….why is she yelling? I’m the one that was really hurt. Finally I started actually listening to what she was talking about.

β€œβ€¦complete moron! This is a designer bag! How dare you make me drop it, you are sooo going to pay for this you freak!” she yells while I just stared blankly at her.

β€œI am so sorry!”, I say as I attempt to stand up while people are stilling swarming around me, β€œI didn’t mean to bump into you.”

β€œWhatever! Just know that I will be getting payback for this.” The girl sneered before strutting down the hall with her two friends trailing behind her.

*Well this is going to be an interesting year*, I think to myself as I begin searching for my next class.
