I see it coming down. O god its right here. Its behind me. No it is right in front of me. I can not see it. But I know it is there. I hear it singing in the midnight sky. Please help us, help us all because if you don’t then it shall consume all that there is in which is seen. And then when it is done it is not the same. It is seen as something that is not even a shadow of it’s former self. But by then it will be to late. Because it has taken our children and drown them in the river Styx. It has taken our ancients and skinned them alive. It has ripped the heads off the men and mounted them on spikes. And it shall take it’s time with the women. It shall be civil with them. When it is over they shall be so engrossed with the insanity upon which has been bestowed upon them that it shall be a blessing when the death they so deserve comes and takes them. But when it sees me standing atop a hill. When it sees me standing without fear it shall rush forward and make it’s presence known. I shall call upon the name given to such a thing and it shall run in terror. For the fear which is needed to grant it’s power is gone I shall take up a mighty spear and rend it through the beast’s heart. If it has none I shall pierce it’s body until all that is left is a bloody mass on the floor that is not even recognizable except to those that stood behind me watching. The body shall turn to smoke and I will inherit the power that had been seen by the thing that when it has been taken back for the people I shall be even more so that what it was. I will not let such a power go unused. I will take the healing nations and divide them till the only thing left is the naked steel structures that were first made to hold them up. I will shatter all belief in a god that is not there. If he was then why does he not help me? You there standing in the corner of this world. Why do you not fight back. What kind of a answer is that, nobody will fight for you if you don’t fight for them. You have not hurt as I have. Would you want to know the story that is mine to tell. Well then would you please come with me to that which I rest my head. You can sleep there. You can eat there. Compassion for one thing is that which we base our strictest rule upon. The thoughts passing in your head are strange indeed. Why do you not fear that which I am? Very well I shall accept the thought that you do not fear death. Or what waits beyond. I shall retire if you would kindly do the same.
What are you doing? Why are you in my bed, why is your face resting so close to my head? Your eyes so bright are seen in the light of the moon glistening off of your body. The diamonds growing along the contours are so beautiful. They way that you NO. WITCH, DAEMON, GET OUT. Get out of this room you vile creature. I have done things that are deplorable, but you! What you want is such a unfathomable thought. Why do you ask this of me? What do you want me to do. I am a being that has sent a fixed world to the bottom of the sea. I have fed children to their mothers and fathers. I have no thought to the past so why do stand there as if you were a child. What are you staring at? Get back! Get back I said, NO don’t come any closer! Get away no NO! Don’t touch me! What are you doing? Why do you hold yourself to such a responsibility? Love what is that?
Outside the army amassed itself. And charged into the castle. They killed all which they saw and all that were there. Many died that night but not because there were many in the castle that was built out of bones. It was only when the man ran into the top room. The brave and courageous leader of the fight ran into the highest room in the tallest tower where he saw a beast, a thing of shadow with the only girl he had ever loved. It held her in it’s arms with her eyes closed laying across it’s chest. And that is when he screamed. He did not move but as the two in bed awoke he drew his sword. The thing that was only just sleeping finally moved with a speed of no other. Then the soldiers arm was gone. So was his head. And those behind him saw a thing that moved with the shadows coming in for the kill. And so it did.
Walking back through the empty hallways the blood glowed in a special way from the light the moon gave. She was still asleep. Her breath came in a long slow rhythm. So slow like but so loud, like the tick of a clock.
Now what do we do with the time that we have left. I have seen the night that has brought any and all that which I desire come and now I don’t what to do. It has left me empty inside. A deep feeling in which I can not see any farther than what lies in my bed and on the floor. It has left me a feeling in which I have lost all I have. So I ask you β€œDo you know what I should do?
And you answer that I should come back. It is a long night, and it is not over yet. So I come back into the room and I lay my head down next to yours and you move so that it would be so much closer and I feel the fires of your love against the skin of my fear and as it burns away I am open again. The smoke flows away like it was never even there. And then we begin again.
