"Okay, one two three..." Twang!
The sound of an arrow flying through the air under the midnight moon. We were waiting for the scent of blood to hit the night air. "You must have missed, Jared dear." All of a sudden there was a sickly sweet smell in the air. "What is that smell, Marie?" Twang!
A cry erupted from his partner, a cry of pain. "Run Jared! Get back to the kids!" Marie cried. Jared, only part human at that instant, ran on all fours. Twang!
Jared went down, listening to the peals of his enemies laughter.
Back at Jared and Marie's Mansion, their daughters, Namine and Kestrel, were getting ready for bed with the help of the family witch. Namine was two and a half, more than capable of getting ready for bed herself, but Kestrel was only a few hours old, so Maggie put her to sleep. "Were Ma and Pa, Maggie?" Namine asked when Maggie was tucking her in. "They went out to celebrate your sisters birth, young one. You know that." Namine looked puzzled. "Should be back now." She said in her high clear voice. Maggie knew she was right, but decided best to lie to the young girl. "No, they will hunt till they find the right prize. when you were born, they were gone for a week!" Namine's look, told Maggie that she did not believe her one bit, but the little girl was tired from all the exitment of the day. "Okay. Night-night Maggie." Once Namine layed her head on the pillow, Maggie quietly walked out, and cracked the door. Then, telepathically, she called out to Jared. She heard nothing, but surly she should be able to see what he sees, right? So she checked that. Nothing. She tried it with Marie. This time she felt pain! "Marie! what is it that bothers you?!" Maggie asked hurridly. "Maggie," a faint, familiar voice whispered. "take care of my babies. Help train them, and if you cannot, take them to either mine or my loves parents. There is $1000 hidden away in my jewerly box. Take care, tell my girls i love them" Like the wind had blown Marie away, Maggie knew that she was dead. Maggie pulled out her globe, a third eye, and whispered, "Show me the fate of Lord Jared and Lady Marie." In the globe, she saw two figures laying on the ground, something sticking out of each. Maggie almost dropped the globe, causing the image to be lost. Instintanuosly, Kestrel started screaming at the top of her little lungs. Maggie ran to her, grabbing a vile off the table. Maggie almost started sobbing, knowing Kestrel would always think that she was her mother. "Sshh, baby Krest. Calm donw Krest. Whats wrong, sweety?" Maggie tried calming the little girl to no avail. Kestrel was born with a krest on her forhead, and right now, she had her left hand covering it, almost rubbing it while her right hand was covering the area where her heart was. Maggie gave the little girl a drink of the vile, and within seconds Kestrel was asleep. Right when Kestrel fell into a deep, magical sleep, Namine screamed. Maggie all but flew to Namine's room, to see Namine's flower glowing a very bright shade of red, almost white! Maggie gave Namine a drink too, and within minutes, Namine's flower was back to its usual ice blue.
