You know what I absolutely hate? Labels. Not like the labels on clothes in shops (although I don't like the high priced ones) but the social labels. Queen Bees, Nerds, Sporties but the worst is Newbie. If your labelled Newbie then it gives the impression that your some little thing that needs to be picked up and helped. Especially if your like me. I'm Elena Burrow. I am 14 but I look about 9.
"Push off Newbie," A tall blonde girl pushes past me. That's Charlotte. She's a bitch. She is one of those people that you just want to strangle but then they wear 15cm heels and when you are only 4ft 5. Charlotte is definately going to be a model. She has no brains, has blonde hair and blue eyes, is like mega tall and wears size 6 clothes. Well, she is quite clever. She is an A* student and gets loads of awards but she always plays dumb for boys.
We were best friends in primary school. We were inseperable. Then the Blondies happened. We started secondary school and Charlotte met twins Belle and Elle. Then I was just Elena and in year 8 newbie. It doesn't help that I don't wear make-up, I look like a year 7. I've been stopped from going into the young adult bit library because of it! And I had to revise for my History mock. The bell rang sharply. Shit. I have Maths and I haven't done my homework. Shit. I have Miss Jones i.e the strictest teacher in school.
"Homework!" Miss Jones' screech of a voice ecohed across the room. My heart began pumping faster, "Miss Burrow? Your homework, please." I started stuttering random gibberish. The edge of my vision started to go talk. It was happening again. I have all doctors stumped because I always talk perfect sense but the to everybody else I am talking absolute nonsense. In my head I was saying somethong along the lines of, "Shut up you bitch! Nobody cares about you, and nobody ever will! You are an absolute bitchey monster!"
"Miss Jones! Your homework!" she screamed as she doesn't believe that I am panicing.
Then came a miracle.
The secretary came bursting in through the door. Her name is practically the definition of irony. Her name is Mrs Small. She is definately not married and is the opposite of small.
"This is Reya Willow Ericson," she squeaked, "why don't you sit next to Newbie, Newbie." Reya started walking in my direction. I kept my head down. Not another bitch. She had thick long dark hair that was dip-dyed and honey blonde colour and her eyes were brown like olives. Her skin was dark, like burnt honey. Her posture was immaculate and she was tall but she was wearing black heeled Mary-Janes. You could tell that she was very new from the area as she had no proper school uniform. She wore a dark red kilt and shirt as well as a black blazer. Our school uniform is green. She sat down and took her black hand bag from off her shoulder. I looked at the brand, DKNY. Great, Charlotte's new bestie. Then just too top it all off, her pencil case was a Burberry make-up bag.
"Hey," she peered down at my excercise book, "Elena, who are the blondies looking at me?" she looks at me with the most beautiful eyes. They are not sapphire blue like Charlotte's but this rich, deep brown shade, like chocolate cake.
"Charlotte Harrington, official popular bitch," I replied.
"Yeah, I see that," she said, not sarcastically, "who are the ones sitting next to her."
I explained about Elle and Belle who actually had auburn hair and green eyes but dyes their hair and wears coloured contacted lenses. And Yva just tags along like an annoying barnacle. Reya nodded and pulled out a notebook, Moleskine.
"Now class, algebra," Miss Jones screeched.
EnglishThe door flew open to the English classroom. Miss de Bello strutted in. She was wearing a white pencil suit with her long blonde hair flipped over her shoulder. The 'all white appearance' made her blue eyes and red lipstcik and stilettos 'pop', as the Blonde Bitches would say. And guess who her sister is; Charlotte. Oliver Prettygate wolf whistled from the back of the class.
"Nice suit, Miss!" He cheered, all the boys at the back sniggered and started wolf whistling.
"Detention! All of you!" she shouted, they started cheering, "with Mr Franco!" They stopped cheering. Then she instructed us to take out our copies of Macbeth. Reya stuck up her hand. First mistake; nobody questions Miss de Bello.
"What is, Miss Ericson, I'm sure we'd all like to hear," Miss de Bello asked annoyed.
"I don't have a copy of Romeo and Juliet," Reya replied; second mistake.
