Chapter 1

That morning when I woke up my brother Seth was standing over me with a hungry stare, I flinched looking at him.
“What the heck, Seth,” I groaned, sitting up,” why are you looking at me like that?”
“You snore,” was all he said then walked out of my room, I stared blankly down the path that he just walked. I snore, well yeah I do but still its not nice to say something like that to someone when they first get up.
By the way I’m Larten Crusade,
I go to Mason middle school in Tacoma Washington and live in Tacoma, well duh of course I would, anyway I’m in eighth grade and am twelve, Seth goes to Sammy and is almost sixteen. I also have a little sister who’s six and her name is Madison like my grandmother on my Mum’s side of the family. I have the strangest color of hair its like between silver and white and then my eyes are strange too they’re white-out. you know no iris or pupil. if you want to know I can see, some think its cool and others like girls are creeped out but amazed at the same time. My brother and sister are normal, they have brown hair and black-brown eyes. I think I was adopted, but mum and Dad said I wasn’t. And yes I’ve asked them before.

I got up out of bed and walked down the steep stairway to the kitchen, when I came down my mum was up and was making breakfast before school.
“Good morning sleepy head,” she smiled, I smiled back-right now I didn’t know at the end of the day all four of them will be dead- and sat at the table.
My dad was sitting at the end of the table reading the paper waiting for his fried eggs that he had ever single mourning I’m surprised he’s not sick of them by now, yet he is still eating them. Seth walked over to me and grabbed my chair and pushed it backward, I looked at him. This didn’t bother me he knew that too thats why he does it? I think it entertains him.
“Hey,Larten,” Madison smiled at me.
“Hey Maddy,” I got out of my chair and gave her a hug, Maddy thinks my eyes are pretty because it makes her think of a white petal. that’s her favorite kind of flower petal, white it represents Innocence and purity. As my Mum had said to me, she said that I must be very pure and innocent to have that color of eyes.
It was fifteen minutes later and I headed toward school by myself. I had no friends so that was kind of sad, some think I’m invisible. Though I’m good in PE so they always pick me, instead of Larten they call me Larson its close enough that I didn’t care. I wasn’t on any team though some of the teachers especially the PE teacher Mr. Van though everyone calls him by his first name which is Timothy because he’s like nineteen.

When I got to school I went to my locker and opened it, someone came behind me and shut it I looked to see who it was and it was the new kid in my grade Tristan Foss. I glared at him.
“Why did you do that?” I asked. his eyes widened.
“Wait you can see me?”
“I may look blind Foss but I am not,” I growled scowling at him.
“Sorry,” he said scratching the back of his head.
“Its fine,”
“How can you see me Crusade ?” he asked
“like you, through my eyes,”
“Thats cool,” he said
“Sure it is,” I said
“ No really it is,” Tristan smiled, I rolled my eyes not that he could see that I was rolling my eyes.
