Tainteds: The Unwritten Destiny

Chapter One

Prolouge

"Afraid to let myself go...For I won't able to rebuild me again...Even if I want to..."

A soft sigh escaped my lips, my fingers slightly trembling as it traced the wrinkly lines of the tulip flower, bloomed next to a beautiful, sparkling lake. I pulled my knees to my chest, placing my chin over them and stared into the horizon, feeling comfort with the surroundings. Sun brightly shone on my face, triggering me to know what time, but too lazy to do it. My red flannel shirt brushed up against the dirt, but I don't care about it right now. My hazel eyes stared the sparkling lake, thinking about my life which made a dramatic U-turn.

Small sad smile spread across my lips when I felt the sweet breeze grazing my cheeks, ruffling my golden brown ringlets. I sighed again, in content, feeling safe and warm. Closing my eyes, I titled my head, enjoying the quiet and lovely forest, surrounding me. I could hear the softest brushes of branches, the sweet whispering of winds and the melody of chirping birds, easing my heart and draining my pain.

Everything around me is filled with life and glow, whereas, here I am, pitying my life. I exhaled loudly, pressing my palm against the muddy ground before hoisting myself up, dusting my fingers off and picked up the flower, smiling at it. It was warm...Nice...Lovely...And quiet.

But someone decided to ruin it. I jumped a feet high in air when my phone rang, startling me.

"Jeez..." I whispered, shaking my head at myself and attended the call, after checking the ID.

Mom

I rolled my eyes. "Yes, Mom?"

"Lucinda Platinum! Where are you?!" Mom shrieked and I grimaced, pulling my phone away from my ears, letting my Mom to cool down before pressing it again my ears again. "It's half past eight, Lucy....We should've hit the road by now Where are you again?!"

"Just...taking a morning jog?"

Somehow it came out as a question. Cheeks heated and I cursed myself, for having the inability to lie. Damn!

"Is it me or it sounded as question instead of a statement?"

All she got was my sheepish laughter.

"Lucy..." I stopped laughing, my face turning to concern when I heard her sad tone. "I know you don't want to do this...But so much happened after Evans...I don't think we should be here, in Bellwood Park...Not anymore."

My face fell and my heart wrenched painfully against my ribs, a choked sob escaping my lips. Evans Platinum, my Dad, who died few weeks ago, was just 36 years old with golden brown hair and hazel eyes, something I had inherited from him. Everyone said that I look exactly like him when he was my age, but with my Mom's character being mixed in my blood. My grandmother, from my Dad's side, said that I took my smartness from my Dad and unfortunately, I took my Mom's height...Which is short, by the way...I'm just 5'4....

Yeah, I was the shortest girl in my grade...Which sucks!

"I-I know," I stuttered, biting my lip from sobbing and tears filled my eyes. "B-But it's so hard, Mom...He was there for me the past 16 years...And then suddenly, he is gone...gone...."

"Lucy, sweetie, you need some fresh start in your life," said Mom in her soft, sad voice and my heart thudded against my rib cage dully at her words. "Life is hard on us, Lucy and we need to overcome it...We can start a new life...A fresh life..."

"But...Out of all those places, you had to choose Fallen Angel town, don't you?" I sigh in slight frustration, kicking a stone.

"W-Well...I didn't pick it up just because of the name!" She shrieked again, defending herself and I let a small chuckle to escape from my lips.

"Oh, then for whatever reason, my dear mother, did you pick that place?" I asked, sarcasm dripping from my words and side-stepping from a crunchy branch which was like inches from hitting my nose. Phew! That was a close call! "Nice donuts?"

"Uh...I-I picked it up...Eh...Because it's my hometown?"

"Is it me or it sounded like a question instead of statement?" I repeated her own words and I heard her dry laughter.

"Yeah, mock your own mother," Mom snorted and I heard some shuffling.

"You're deviating from my question," I said in a sing-song voice.

"..."

"Really, Mom?" I rolled my eyes, snickering at my childish mother and my chest eased out from the previous pain I was feeling.

"All right! You're right!" I smirked proudly at that. "I picked it up because of the name...But only partially! I considered it because it's my hometown as well! I thought a familiarity in a new place would be great!"

"Yeah, where most of the supernatural occurrences...occurs."

"...It does?" She asked innocently.

"Don't play dumb with me, Mom,"

"...I really really don't know about that...I picked it up because it has some nice homey feeling!"

"Nice save, Mom, nice save," I snorted in displeasure.

"You ungrateful brat!" I laughed when my Mom yelled in frustration, of course, only playfully. I could literally feel her smile through my phone. "Come home soon!"

I just chortled and looked up, my home was just few miles away from me. "All right... I see our home...Be there in few minutes..."

"Okay, sure, be fast!"

I smiled softly, my boots squishing on the muddy and wet ground. "I will..."

"Bye! Love you, Lucy!"

"Bye...." I whispered, disconnecting the call and looked up, seeing the Sun being blocked up the fluffy clouds. I sighed, placing my phone inside my jean pocket and stared at the forest longingly, where I spent almost my entire childhood with my Dad.

We both loved to sneak out, to this forest and we always had so much in common. It hurt like hell to leave something that is a part of me. But I knew I had to do this...

My Dad wouldn't want me to mop around for years...He would want me to live the life in the same way he did...

But still it hurts to leave this place where I was born and grow up with my Dad...

"Going to miss you, Dad," I whispered, my voice cracking at the end and few tears slipped past my eyes down to the grassy ground. "I love you, Dad...Remember...You'll always be my hero...Forever."

I shivered when I felt cool breeze sweeping past me, ruffling my locks, the same way my Dad would do it. I felt the same breeze caressing my cheek and I felt a feeling of arms wrapping loosely around me, giving me a warm hug.

I really felt freaked out now, my heart beat started to rise and I began to sweat but strangely, I felt as if my Dad is still with me...

I smiled, taking a deep breath and walked forward, ready to leave a place that is like a home to me.

...Forever Loving You....Dad

***

Bellwood Park, one of the most lovable place I've experienced, is my home. It is a small town, with little population and few stores here and there. People were really friendly and helpful, and I've grown to love them. Bellwood Park is surrounded by an enchanting forest, Bellwood Woods which is large and wide. Many epidemic species of plants and animals could be seen here, mesmerizing the tourists who come here every year at spring and autumn. In winter it is different story. The lake, where I spent half of my time, will freeze over and we can even do ice skating!

But...Do you know at which season I'll be here...all the time?

It was summer...

I would be there, by the lake, swimming all day and enjoying the warm breeze. I would often see some monkeys, wild yaks and even I'd seen a tiger...Drinking water from the lake whereas I was up in the tree, holding my dear breath, waiting for the tiger to leave the place.

Yep...Got the best memories from there!

Now...I have to leave everything behind and start a new, fresh life in Fallen Angel town. It's not like I hate that town or anything, it's just...I have to leave where Dad was born and raised...It hurts to leave a place where his scent is still in the air. I sighed, kicking the stone as I walked to my home. It's a cute cottage, with grassy green lawn in front of my home and fresh bloomed rose flowers and crotons decorated the side of the lawn. It is small and cute.

My mind drifted to the town which is famous for supernatural sightings. I know why Mom took that place for a fresh start. Mom is actually from there, brought up and raised in that creepy Fallen Angel town. She is a sucker for supernatural stories that revolves around the place. Grandma always told her stories of how the Fallen Angel town was created during her bedtime and Mom would eagerly listen to her mesmerizing voice as she recited what happened centuries ago.

Some say the story about the creation of that creepy town is true and not just a rumor. They say they can still see the agony of the Angel, who was betrayed by a human and in that agony, she created that heavenly place. This story started centuries ago...Not sure on which century it had taken place.

The Angel's name was Aurora, one of the most beautiful Angel in Heaven being the right hand for the God, as they say. Her bright, luminous purple hair would shine in both light of Moon and rays of Sun. Her shimmering blue colored eyes will haunt the men's heart forever. She is the Guardian Angel for humans, as the script said and she occasionally swoops down to Earth and just roam for few years then will go back to her home, the Heaven.

And one day, she swooped down low like the usual and began to explore the place. It was radiant, the place where she had landed and she stared everything with curious filled eyes. Unknown to her, the men in the town started to fall in love with the Guardian Angel, losing their heart and soul to the purple haired angel. Many men approached her and confessed their everlasting love to the Angel but she politely declined, for the love between a mortal and immortal is forbidden in Heaven and Earth.

But one man caught her eye. His dirty blond hair and bright baby blue eyes is not the one that attracted her but his personality and his character too. His name was Alexander Hellin. He was a doctor, who travelled around the world and treated the poor people without a penny. Aurora was immediately captured by his selfless acts and his baby blue eyes that lured her to him.

They say she was connected to that human. Connect means connecting with body and soul, like 2 bodies but one soul. Their heart would beat for each other, overwhelmed by their love and their soul will conjoin with one another, creating a beautiful piece of soul. Aurora, the immortal Guardian Angel, was connected to Alexander Hellin, the mortal.

But as I said, the love between a mortal and immortal is forbbiden. And when Aurora wanted to live in Earth forever with Alexander, her title of Guardian Angel was stripped from her. She willingly gave up her status, the high status any Angel could ever get, and went to live in Earth for her love. She chose the precious thing called 'love' with a heave price, losing her immortality.

Aurora and Alexander comfortably lived in the town they met. An Angel's heart will never sway or shaken but a human's heart can. Alexander started to have feelings for another girl and left Aurora for her. This enraged the Angel. for she had given up everything for the mortal man and what she gained? The betrayal of the loved one.

In depression, she fled the place with his child still inside her. She didn't weep, didn't cry and didn't sob. She had to be stronger, at least for her baby. She arrived a barren land, with no fields of corps to greet her or the sparkling water
