Unknown Powers
Chapter 1.
I walked past a shop window and stopped to look at my reflection, I had long black wavy hair that goes to my butt, tanned skin, golden eyes, a flower tattoo on my for head to my right cheek and I was 5’8 I had a black cape over my clothes that were singed and ripped I could see my reflection by the light of the streetlight. I looked at my watch, it was 11:30.
“Well happy birthday to me” I said with a sad filled voice. I still can’t believe what my parents tried to do just a half hour ago.
FLASHBACK
I just lay there tied to the bed I kept trying to free myself by tugging at the ropes a couple of times but it was no use. I heard banging coming from the front room, just then my mother came in with a tank full of gasoline. “I don’t know what you have to my baby girl but you are not her your just a monster, our baby girl would accept being a thief and love us, if you truly are my baby girl well let’s just say that I brought you into this world and I’m going to take you out of it.” she said with a hatred filled voice. I watched horrified as my mother threw the gasoline all over the exit and around the bed. She then lit a match and ran while she threw it to the floor igniting the gasoline. I tried desperately to get the ropes off but I failed. I watched as the fire made its way around the bed, I closed my eyes and started to imagine that the ropes were slowly coming off and the fire parted so I could get away. I opened my eyes and I was off the bed and outside the wall of fire. I ran for the door but saw something shine on my dresser I ran over to look and on the dress was a necklace of a cross that was connected with black lace, the cross itself was black and had red ruby’s in bedded in it. I quickly picked it up and placed it around my neck and ran for the front door but as I was going to open the door I remember my parents say how chilly it was so I ran for the closet and picked up my black cape and ran for the door.
END OF FLASHBACK
As soon as I was out of the flashback I was glad I was because I nearly ran into a post box’s I giggled to myself because of how self involved I was. It occurred to me that I had nowhere to stay. I checked my pockets and found £350. “Wow this must have been mums...” but I was cut off when I started to see images of my dad with some money putting the money in the pocket, the image ended. I do love my dad sometimes he really is dumb, even though they tried to kill me. I continued walking and I decided to check what I had in my pockets. I put my hand in my right pocket and fished out my iPod “Sweet.”i said with a smile. I checked my inside pockets and I looked to see what I found. I now had £350, an iPod, Dagger and a mobile phone. I smiled because I have songs on my iPod that makes me calm and on the top of the dagger had a red ruby every time I held it would glow. I have had some experiences where my dagger would glow when I was in danger it helps me out alot, its made me known as the girl with daggers I only have two. Now that reminds me to find the other one. I checked to see if my other dagger was in the bottom of my boots luckily it was. On the top of this dagger there was a deep blue ruby.
