Melia's POV

I woke up because I felt that there was someone, who poked me. I looked up and saw a young girl with big eyes looking at me, but she did not seem to be afraid of me. She looked almost happy.

"Who are you," she asked.

"Not some special, just someone who likes to sleep in the woods"

It was there I saw that her eyes got a golden color

"You are a shifter" blurted it out of me.

The girl stared at me, but her face shone with joy

"Yes, I'm a mountain lion. What about you? I mean you're a cat right? You smell like a cat"

"Yes, I am something like that. What's your name"

The girl looked even happier if it was possible. "I'm Teresa but you can call me Tessa or Tess all my friends call me that. My parents called me ma fille aux yeux bleus that means - my blue-eyed girl in French. My mother was from France. My brother calls me Monello I do not know what that means, but I do not like It., and I am 15. What's your name?”

I just sat and stared at her. She stared back "Melia" I got out.

"Melia. That is a beautiful name, can I call you Mel"

"No," I started to get up. I could almost see the panic in her eyes. "Where are you going? You can’t go, I have so many questions. How is it to shift? Does it hurt?”

I interrupted her "Can your parents tell you all that?"

She got tears in her eyes, I could see she was trying to hold them back. "No, they're dead"

"Tessa, are you not a member of the pack? They can tell you all this?"

She shook her head, "The only thing they want is to be sure that I change and take me a mate" her tears began to run down her cheek.

I went over to her and held her close to me. "Shh. Everything will be okay. Now tell me what is going on" she nodded her head, which was buried in my shoulder.

Tessa's POV

She smelled good. Her smell calmed me. I began to tell, "My parents died two years ago. I live with my brother Jacob. But six months ago, an enemy pack. They started killing the males and take the females for themselves. I do not know how but our alpha chased them away. But not before they had taken or killed most females. Those who were left, were those who have not gone through the change, I am one of them " She took a deep breath, "What does your alpha say to all this?" 

I dried my eyes. "He's not happy about it. He always takes off, to find some females who could help us children or mate with someone in the pack" I lifted my head so I could look up at her.

She was beautiful. No, more than beautiful. Her hair was a dark reddish color. Her eyes changed color when the light hit them.

"Tessa are you okay?" She smiled at me and in that moment, I felt safe. Safer than I've felt in a long time.

"Melia, will you help me?" She hugged me again.

"Sweet, sweet Tessa. I would very much like to, but I do not think I'm the beset to help you."

"why?" I shouted.

She opened her mouth to tell me something when there was one who said, "Yes, tell me why you will not help" we turned both toward the voice.

"Who is it?"

"It's Adrian my alpha." I replied.

"Yes it's me. The alpha. Then I ask again, why will not you help our pups? with your help they they can change safely" He looked a bit angry. I got a weird-feeling. I would not let my alpha harm Melia. I would go to him to ensure that she does not get hurt. Melia stepped forward.

"Because I'm not some ordinary shifter" I stared at her, and then my alpha. I could see he was thinking the same as me what did she mean "I'm a skinwalker "

My alphas eyes widened.
