Why is he taking so long? I thought wryly, the movie is about to begin and Stephen’s not here yet, he’s going to miss the previews. Today was supposed to be me and him only. Stephen is my boyfriend for three years now; I have never been on a date with only him. A couple of nights ago he promised me he’ll take me to the movies and for dinner after but he called an hour before and said he’ll meet me here.

My name is Veronica, I am seventeen years old and I’ll be turning eighteen tonight at 7:04 p.m., in exactly ten minutes. Stephen and I have known each other since the first day of high school. He was the mysterious new guy, everyone went to the same school all their lives in my town, and he could have chosen any girl to be lap partners with him but he chose me, he could have just ignored me and copy all my answers but he talked to me and chose to be fair and let me copy him too. He soon turned from mysterious stranger to the man I’ll will love and cherish for the rest of my life, …yeah right, though he has told me that he’s going to marry me one day but I don’t believe it.

Well back to tonight, we have never been alone on a date; we have been for a few minutes during school or after but not enough for us to lose our breath and get passionate. On every of our dates there was always a baby sister or brother to watch, a parent, friends that we end up triple or quadruple dating, or the janitor in the janitor closet, that was scary. This week I finally put my foot down I told him that we were going to go on a date and if anyone wants to join us we will just scare them away.

I see Stephen entering the door on the far right side, “Stephen over her.” I whisper loudly, waving my arm. Someone shushes me from behind. I never told you how he looks. Stephen is a unique dresser, the way he dresses just tells you that he doesn’t care what he wears but he still looks incredible. He has forest green eyes, short curly dark brown, almost black, shiny hair, and his skin color is between looking pale or looking just a little tan, depends on the light. Stephen rushes over to the seat next to me and the way he walks, it’s like he’s gliding. He doesn’t seem right, as if he has a secret and he’s not willing to reveal it to no one, I am instantly prudent because Stephen never keeps secrets from me, he nevertheless has any. He sits down and presses his mouth over mine like he’s afraid that he might hurt me by kissing me, it’s a quick peck not the kiss I really wanted. He looks around the room, searching for something or looking for someone. The movie begins, let the horror begin, and right away it shows someone dying.

“What’s wrong babe? I thought this day was going to be special?” I ask in a quiet voice, hurt. He looks over me and looks as if he forgot I was there and says, “It is special I just have to make sure that we aren’t being followed or watched.” He smiles at me and flash his teeth. I gasp. His teeth have been turn to a white that shines and his two canine teeth have enlarged doubled from before. I jerk away from him, out of his reach, and out of my seat. Stephen curses silently. I scream but it is covered by the other screams due to the horror movie.

He reaches outward and pulls me up to my sit again, as if I were a pillow. He shushes me with his fingers when it looked like I was about to scream again. “Darling, calm down. I don’t want to need to bite you.” He says it so menacing and serious that I start sobbing and screaming again.

He grabs my head with one hand, my shoulder with the other, and pulls my hair out of my neck area.”Now please forgive me for this, but you are just so loud and you’re making it hard to be with you forever.” He says it, before he bends down and bites into my neck. I feel a liquid released into my blood stream and it calms me down immediately. My head falls onto his lap.

I could feel him brushing my hair out of my face, and the last thing I hear is, “I love you Veronica, forever and ever babe.”
