a can of soda, dad had red wine and mom had Pepsi Max, Mom was diabetic and Pepsi Max didnโt contain sugar so that was mostly all she drank.
โHow is school?โ Dad asked not looking at me as he sprinkled parmesan cheese over his pasta sauce โHow is Adam? I do like your boyfriend.โ
I stared at him, my mouth full with pieces of pasta. I swallowed them and took and drink of my soda, mom had also stopped eating and was gawking at dad โWe broke up like a month ago,โ I said โAnd school is fine, I guess, im glad itโs nearly the last day.โ
Dad laughed and stroked his top a thing he never realised he did, an old habit he never overcome โIm sorry I had forgot and does that mean Emilia is going to be spending all of her time here?โ
Emilia my best friend since forever and always would be, Emilia and me where joined at the hip, โOf course she is dad, She is my best friend.โ
Dad didnโt answer and mom didnโt cut in the conversation so I carried on eating my pasta waiting for somebody to start a new conversation, I would be sixteen in September and then I would be able to get my driving licence, I would be able to go further than me and Emilia could walk, for once I would be stuck in this boring town.
I left a little pasta and a couple of pieces of cucumber and took my plate to the kitchen where I rinsed it off and put it in the dishwasher, the kitchen looked a mess. Mom and dad where decorating, the walls where grey and the cabinets where barely hanging on. They would start painting tomorrow and the new cabinets and counter would be arriving by next week, it would be embarrassing if I had friends other than Emilia come over and see the messy kitchen.
I bet there houses where perfect, I lived in a five bedroom villa looking house and the others living in Victorian houses or chic mansions.
I didnโt have the smallest house but it definitely wasnโt the biggest.
I wasnโt a popular girl either, but I wasnโt a loser. I used to hang around with Caprice, the mean popular girl but she used to be friendly and charitable. Now she was a bitch stuck in a pretty girls body, long blonde wavy hair and tanned skin, even though it was fake the boys loved it and it was always about cleaverage with her; How much she showed and how much would drive the boys crazy.
I went back to the large dining room which seemed bare with only an average sized table and a couple of pictures hanging on the burnt orange walls.
โIm going to my room, if you hear me speaking im on the phone to Emilia.โ Which was kind of a lie, tonight I was going to find out what was in there, in my room and I wasnโt going to scare it away. Sometimes I didnโt want it to leave.
I didnโt wait for my parents reply, or there sigh of disappointment that I am spending another night in my room. I ran up the stairs quickly and skipped along the landing. I walked into my room and closed the door, it shut easily so it made a lot of noise when it closed.
A load bang travelled the landing and the upstairs room, I could almost see my parents faces of horror or hear there words under there breath. Preparing to lecture me later about it or threatening to take the door away, my dad actually did that. I pulled a face of horror as I remembered.
I hugged myself and sat on the bed, my eyes travelled the room looking for something to be different or off, something not natural.
The fan made a noise as it went round and round again, I couldnโt see the different wooden planks they where moving too fast, cold air blowed on me and I felt something on my arm.
I pulled my arm away in panic, I forgot about how comforting the touch was and held my arm out, the touch didnโt return though.
I took stood up and took my pyjamas out of the draw, sliding my sweater over my head and undoing my jeans. I was about to take of my jeans when I felt pressure on my arm once more.
I turned around fast trying to face whatever was touching me and this time they didnโt let go of there grip.
The grip eased off and I made a little noise, I didnโt know why but I longed for the touch again โDonโt go, im sorry.โ I whispered into my room, there was no answer and no touch.
I slid the vest top over my head until I was standing in the centre of my room in just my jeans, undies and bra. Embarrassed and also thrilled at the same time.
I felt the pressure on my arm once more and I smiled, I pulled my pjyjamas top over my head once more and left the bottoms for later.
I turned around to face the room, trying to hide my mischievous grin as I held out my arm and laughed, โSo who is there exactly?โ
