on Saturdays”. They were delighted at the opportunity to baby-sit, and jumped right on it.

Julia met Carmel at the airport, and they were on their way to Memphis for the weekend. This is exactly what she needed right now. She felt light and free.

Damon and Tippy had the house all to themselves. She was a good dog, and very well behaved. He decided to buy her a new car while she was away. Julia told Carmel that” she knew how wrong she was, but she could not help herself. This just felt right and good”. They made a deal, that they would meet once every three months just to keep their sanity.

She got home on Sunday in a very good and festive mood. Damon asked her to go out to the garage, and get the hammer for him. She looked at him, but then headed on out the door. She opened the garage door, and there it was. A silver Lexus, with beautiful leather seats, and a big bright red ribbon tied around it.

Tears streamed down her face, and she cried uncontrollably for about ten minutes. She had to pull herself together, but guilt was eating away at her. She told Damon that β€œshe loved it, but knew that she did not deserve it”. He reminded her that” she was his queen, and she did deserve the best of everything that he could give to her”.

They decided to take the children and Tippy out for a car ride. They ended the day by having a picnic in the park. Julia thought” why can’t I just enjoy being a wife and mother? What is wrong with me?” She really loved her husband, and their children and being right here was all she needed. Contentment was all over her, and she could not ask for anything more.

Now she needed another hobby other than Carmel. She wanted to start her own business, but what? She was pondering cooking or sewing or maybe doing hair and nails. Not one of those was interesting enough.

She had it; she would go back to school and take accounting classes. Surely this would keep her busy and away from him. This was turning out for the best. She was busy being a mother, student, wife and most of all she was her husband’s queen.” Who had time for an extra marital affair?”

Now they had been married for eight years, and she was finally happy in her marriage. She did not want to risk spending any more time with Carmel, so she suggested that they move to another state.

Damon could not believe what she was asking him to do, and told her” to really sit down, and think about things. They would be leaving their home, livelihood, families and friends, and for what?” She thought about what he was saying, and apologized, and let him know that it was just a thought.

On the next day, she and the children went to the mall to do some shopping, and she spotted him.

He was standing next to a woman, and they were looking at baby clothes and actually seemed to be enjoying it. He looked up, and saw her, and walked over to her. She said hello, and he quickly introduced her to his wife.

Julia was stunned, and in disbelief, until she noticed that this woman looked to be about seven or eight months pregnant. Julia congratulated them, wished them luck on everything, and went on her way.

When she got home, and got the children settled, she thought about them, and the fact that she did not get jealous about it, and those old feelings never came up once. She took a deep breath, and realized that it was definitely over now……
