Thatβs what Love Is
Julia was outraged. She could not believe it. After a night of passionate, mad, and almost brutal lovemaking, there he was. Sitting there on the couch, waiting up for her to come home. Her husband, Damon was patiently waiting for her.
βAre you hungry?β he asked, as she just stood there starring over at him. βNo, I ate while we were hanging outβ. βOh, well I am having a ham and cheese sandwich myselfβ. So Julia said, βWhy are you still awake? Normally you would be sleeping deeply by nowβ.β I guess I was just missing my wifeβ, he said. As he ate his sandwich she was thinking back to the wonderful dinner that she had just shared with Carmel.
They had just encountered crab cakes, lobster and rice pilaf. A very expensive bottle of champagne to wash it all down. At home she would have endured a ham and cheese sandwich and some Kool-Aid. She kind of felt bad about it, but who was she kidding? She wanted and deserved the best and this was not it, at all.
Damon had gotten off work early, and took a ride over to where the private investigator told him that his wife frequented often. He walked around the house listening through the windows until he heard voices, and true enough, he listened until he recognized his wifeβs voice. He was devastated, so much in fact that he lost his footing and fell. He did not get hurt physically; it was only his ego that got bruised pretty badly.
After sitting there sobbing for a while, he decided to go on home and wait for her. He told himself that it was his fault that she had taken refuge with another man, and it was up to him to fix the problems in their marriage.
He needed and wanted his wife, and nothing else mattered at this point. He knew that he had to man-up and straighten things out before he lost her for good. Damon started sending his wife bouquets of flowers weekly, bringing candy home to her and buying her a more expensive brand of jewelry. He decided to give her more attention even if it meant taking some time off work. This was working out great for her, but wearing him out.
He told her that he loved her, and wanted to be able to trust her. She assured him that he could trust her. Julia wanted to know why he thought that he could not trust her. He told her that crazy thoughts had been going through his mind and to just forget about it. He told her that he knew she was faithful, and would remain so.
Julia was comparing her married life to the fantasy life that she was busy living out with Carmel. The fantasy life far outweighed the reality of her married life. She loved Damon but she was bored stiff, and needed some excitement in her life. Carmel supplied everything that Damon could not.
Carmel made a suggestion to her that they go away together and start their new and exciting life. He promised her that she would never be bored with him, and she did not have a reason to doubt what he had promised.
Carmel told her that while Damon was just going through the motions, he on the other hand, had delivered. He told her that love does what it says, and love gives, unconditionally.
He had the wherewithal to make her dreams come true. She deserved the best of everything, and he could, and would give that to her. He also told her that she only needed to open her beautiful hazel eyes to see the truth.
She really loved Damon because of the person he was, and not just for the material things in which he provided for her. He never went after the most expensive things, but always bought nice things for her and them as a family.
Carmel on the other hand, lived extravagantly and did buy the most expensive things. He showered her with diamonds, expensive clothes and shoes, which Damon would never buy for her. She was not used to this lifestyle, but did long for it. It just did not include her husband, and that fact bothered her.
She had definitely gotten caught up with this man and all that he offered to her. As she was packing her suitcases with some of her belongings to leave him, she began to cry. What was she thinking? She could not leave her husband, and for what? She wiped her tears away and told herself that she deserved this life and wanted it for herself.
Damon would eventually forgive her, and move on with his life because he was a forgiving man, and that was part of why she loved him so much. By the time she made it to the airport and met up with him she had changed her mind. She could not leave her husband for him or anybody else, ever. Damon was loving and decent and would never cheat on her.
She and Damon had been married for over six years now, but things really got boring to her after the first four years. She was hoping things would somehow pick up and get better for them. Damon worked for his dad at their family business.
He was a good provider and husband. He provided for her happily, and without hesitation. She could not have everything that she wanted, but she did know how to be content with such things as she had.
Damon did not want her to work, so she was a stay at home wife. She never really got the cooking thing, so they ate fast food a lot during the week. Julia did love her husband and tried to be a good wife to him. Their marriage provided the stability and protection that she needed, and she loved that.
She did not want to defy her husband, but she had to do something. She decided to sell Avon from home. He was alright with this, because that last thing he wanted was for her to be bored. He really loved his wife, and promised to provide for her. She did like that fact.
Damon was six feet tall, with brown shoulder length hair. His eyes were a beautiful emerald green, and he had deep long dimples. His skin was olive colored. Oh! Yes, he was definitely the right man for her, which is, until she met Carmel.
He stood about six feet two-inches tall, with very broad shoulders. His hair was jet black, and he kept it in a crew cut. His eyes were of an almond color. He was sort of scruffy looking with the beard and all. She fell in love with him, fast and furious. He was a wealthy land developer, and did she ever enjoy getting to know him better.
They had been seeing each other for over a year now, and she could not see herself giving him up not now, not ever. He seemed to enjoy buying her expensive jewelry and clothes. She was a very gracious and thankful recipient.
Julia and Damon met in high school. He was a senior, and she was a sophomore when they met. Julia was a bit of a nerd, and he was the captain of the football team. He was very popular with the girls.
The head cheerleader was after him of course, but he only had eyes for Julia. She was very intelligent, especially in mathematics, and he needed a tutor. His counselor suggested that he ask her to help him, and that was the start of their love affair.
Damon had dated quite a few girls and was sexually active, but Julia was a virgin and wanted to remain that way until she got married. He was really into her, but did not know if he could deal with that.
He graduated high school and went off to college. She knew that she would have no problem staying faithful to him, but did not know if he would remain faithful to her. She did not want to put any pressure on him, so they broke up, and decided to just be friends.
After college, he moved back home, and they picked right up where they left off. They were in love with each other, and that is all they needed to know. He proposed and she said βyesβ. His promise to provide for her was just icing on the cake.
Juliaβs family did not have much when she was growing up, but they did have a lot of love. Both of her parents worked, and with five children, it was all they could do to make ends meet sometimes.
Damon on the other hand had one brother, and his parents owned a car garage. In Juliaβs eyes his family was rich, and she could use some of that.
She started working in a department store while in high school, and after she graduated, she went full time. The fact that she was making money, and could afford to buy her own clothes and shoes was a definite plus for her.
The fact that she was able to help out with the household finances, gave her a sense of gratitude, because she understood the stress that her parents were under, and wanted to help out any way she could.
After she and Damon got married, he informed her that she was his queen, and the queen of the castle did not work, but rather lounged around in luxury. She often wanted to ask himβ where her luxury was, because she was longing to lounge in itβ. She did love the idea and embraced it. The fact that her husband wanted more for her, made her fall in love more with him. He was the sweetest man she had ever known, well, that is outside of Carmel.
Julia had gotten bored with her marriage, and Damon knew it, so he bought her a puppy, and they named her Tippy. She got to know the little puppy, and loved her very much, but she managed to get bored again. She decided to take Tippy to the park one day, and thatβs when she met Carmel. If she were not married this would have been the perfect pair.
Damon had a feeling that something was not right with their marriage. Julia was filled with the type of excitement that comes from sexual contentment and they had not been intimate for the last seven or eight days. She seemed to be in a constant state of bliss.
Even though the thought of her seeing someone else had entered into his mind he just could not get with
