anything to us; our minds and bodies are in your grasps.” Arson declared as he kneeled and lowered his head to Enix.

“Not my body!” Jessica declared, stomping her foot on the floor. North shot her a glare with a large clump of malicious intent that drove her to the ground.

“I apologize for her behavior. She was newly enslaved and doesn’t understand the behaviors of a slave.” Arson declared.

“Don’t worry about it. As you can see, I’m not in the best condition at the moment. I nearly killed myself, so I don’t think that leaving your future with me is the best option.” Enix argued, uncertain about suddenly becoming their master. He was still trying to understand the rules of this world, but this threw everything off.

Arson shook his head. “My future has intertwined with yours. Discarding me is the same as death!”

Enix let out a sight. “Fine… once I heal, we’ll begin your training.”

“Training?” North asked him.

“They need the ability to protect themselves similar to what you’re doing for me,” Enix told her. North shrugged her shoulders before walking out of the room. Enix smiled shyly before turning towards the slaves. “Welcome to your second chance at life.”

Episode Four "Power"

Two weeks passed since Enix managed to defeat the bandit party. Since then, he had recovered and continued his training with North. However, his training was interrupted by questions, complaints, and whining from Jessica. Thankfully, North detected the lack of motivation within Jessica and ordered her to complete several tens of laps around the perimeter of the town. She, reluctantly, followed her order while the others stayed with North to continue their training. They were motivated on getting stronger.

“Today’s training will be based on your highest-tier skill. If we could get them to their maximum output, you’ll become stronger!” She announced before turning to face Natalie. “Your highest-tier skill is Spiritual Power so you’ll begin focusing on increasing it. Meanwhile… ” Her voice trailed off as she looked around before Arson caught her attention. “You have Creation: Darkness. I need you to master five percent of the skill.” She ordered. Arson nodded his head.

“What about me?” Milena asked.

“Milena… your training is to master your Physical Enhancement skill. As for Rex, you’ll need to train your Heal IV skill.” She ordered. She then turned her attention towards Enix. “You have reached five percent of your power level. Once Merlin arrives, he will increase your cap to five percent.”

“I can’t use that power now?” Enix asked her.

“No, you need Merlin’s assistance to raise your cap. I, unfortunately, can’t raise it.” North explained to him.

Enix nodded his head before furrowing his brows. “Wait… then what am I doing for training?”

North smirked before raising one finger pointed at the sky. “You’re in charge of training Jessica. She has two skills; Ark Light and Null: Forcefield.”

“I’m in charge of her? She’s a stubborn brat that doesn’t listen to me!” Enix exclaimed, in front of his servants.

“Yeah, but she’s a stubborn brat that you saved.” Enix opened his mouth to argue, but no words could escape. North grinned before turning to the others.“Disperse!” She ordered.

All five of them nodded their heads, Enix reluctantly, before rushing outside of the building and towards an open clearing, fifty meters from the town for safety purposes, which they used as their training grounds. The open clearing allowed everyone---including Jessica who returned sometime later---to train without restrain. Rex trained by making small cuts on himself and healing the wound - repeating this action until his mana was near-empty.

Meanwhile, Milena used trees to try out her Physical Enhancement skill, which boosted her strength and speed to the stats of an adult. She tried her best in punching a hole through the tree, though her first attempt ended in brutal failure.

On the other side of Milena, Arson tested his darkness skill on lower-level monsters, critters living in the surrounding forest. His abilities were cruel and unforgiving, hence the general hared of his skills. Still, Arson continued to train without thinking about others’ views on him. He was more than used to the hate.

Natalie, some distance away from him, held her breath while closing one eye, staring at the makeshift target with her bow drawn. An arrow rested itself on the bow’s thin string, prepared to fly at a moment’s notice. She then released her breath as she released her grip on the arrow. She watched as it flew through the wind with a yellow light engulfing it, piercing the middle of the target upon contact. The yellow light was created by Natalie’s Spiritual Power skill, which allowed her to use an otherworldly force known as Spiritual Power to enhance her arrows’ speed and strength.

While everyone else was training, Enix stood by Jessica’s side on coaching duty, watching as she began her training after disappearing for most of the day. Jessica trained her Ark Light skill, illuminating a small sphere above her fingertip. The small sphere failed to exceed Enix’s expectations, which, as a result, earned several insults from her. Jessica began to pout, refusing to continue her training. “You’re being mean to me! I can’t create a large fireball of light” She shouted at Enix, garnering the attention of everybody in the clearing.

“It’s because you disappear for most of the day and when you do arrive, your skills are at the lowest they could be. I’m disappointed in your lack of motivation. You’re falling behind everybody”

“I don’t care what you think! You’re not my father! Just some snotty kid”

“No, you’re right. I’m not your father, but I am your owner.” He grumbled, earning the silence of everybody.

“You!” She muttered while pointing at him. Her body shook with anger, nearly displacing her balance. “You!”

“You, indeed.” A tall man remarked, staring at Enix with a cold look. He was dressed in a luxurious black tuxedo with a matching set of dress pants and shoes. He approached Enix, appearing as a ghost-white man with a small tuff of black hair.

The expression on the man’s face gave chills to all of the women in the clearing, except North, as he licked his lips while scanning their bodies. Enix directed his anger towards the man, firing off an arsenal of glares. The man felt the malicious intent and took a few steps backward, yelling out to a man standing behind him. “Blackflag! Slaughter the men and take the women. Make sure to torture that one!” He declared while pointing at Enix. The giant of a man who stood some distance behind him, resembling an orc, nodded and charged forward.

“They will feel pain equivalent to rotting in hell.” Black flag declared as he charged towards Enix. Arson ran towards Enix to protect his master but lacked the speed to reach him. The same applied to Natalie, Milena, and Rex. Only Jessica was close enough, but she froze on the spot.

Meanwhile, during the chaos, North watched in glee as she thought about the outcome between an irritated and fed-up Enix versus the musclehead known as Blackflag. She predicted the outcome that would arise.

Blackflag brandished an iron broadsword and swiped at Enix, who managed to evade the swing. Enix continued to evade Blackflag’s attacks, jumping and dodging the attacks with his quick footwork. It wasn’t on par with a professional, but enough to avoid the larger man’s slow swings. As he did, he fired off an attack on his own.

“Creation: Ice… second stage… Frozen Wave!” He shouted while facing Blackflag with his palm facing him, emitting a wave of ice that trampled over Blackflag, the arrogant man, and an entire army that was on standby, hiding in the forest line far from the fighting.

The wave quickly brought all of the frozen people to near-death by bringing their temperatures down until they nearly reached hypothermia. Fortunately for Enix’s enemies, Enix controlled Frozen’s Wave’s temperature to ensure that they wouldn’t die. The strain that the skill put on Enix wouldn’t knock him unconscious now that he had control over the skill.

Enix, with the situation now handled, marched towards the man, directing his attention towards the arrogant man. “What is your name?”

“L-L-L-Luis… Fer-Fer-Feral.” Luis spoke while shivering because of the cold temperatures of the wave. Enix nodded before turning around to face North.

“Your choice of what happens to them.”

“You’re getting better… They’ll be jailed until Merlin can pick them up.” Enix nodded before turning around to face Luis. He turned back around and headed towards Jessica, who was intimidated by his show of power. The Frozen Wave managed to reach sixty meters in length with a width of ten meters. “I say that training is over for the day,” North remarked while staring at Enix’s achievement. Arson and the others watched in awe as they looked for the end of the ice. Meanwhile, Jessica couldn’t raise her eyes to match his. She was too afraid to look at him in case his eyes were filled with anger.

Fortunately for her, he didn’t look at her. Instead, his attention was directed to Luis.

“I will not lose my life or my people to people like you. I will enjoy my second chance at life. I will live my new life to the fullest.”
