"Quiet Derik I'll not allow you to speak so lowly of someone who holds more power than all the Arcs combined!" I wanted to spit in his face. The man standing next to Derik had a red and black hood which his face.
"I feel so worthy of your attention!" I said sarcastically and spat on the red stone beneath me. The heat however was so intense the spit sizzled and evaporated the instant it touched the the ground. The hooded demon in front of me started laughing demonically. I wanted to throw up the sound was awful.
"With a temper as well! You'll give me enough power to finally destroy those pests!" He turned away and began walking out through a red portal entrance laughing demonically. I watched them go my hate seething inside of me. I contained that hate and let it simmer ready to boil up when I needed it.
My mouth was parched, I was soaked through with sweat that was starting to evaporate and my breathing was becoming labored. The heat was intensifying and I was loosing strength. How long I stood there was beyond me, the amount of time I was limp exactly 2 hours, 31 minutes and 36 seconds and counting. Another 30 minutes I was paid a visit.
"How kind of you to come and see me in my weakest state," I snarled as Vlad came through that portal. His smirk made me want to tear his face apart with an owls talons.
"I truly enjoy watching my enemy's being defeated! It gets better when I get to watch them suffer," he laughed. He was indeed enjoying himself. He leaned on his spear watching me. A few seconds later Derik walked in. And with him...
"Tess," I whispered. She looked up and wiggled out of Deriks grasp and ran up to me. She hugged me crying. I tried to hug her but I couldn't and tears started to fall rinsing sweat off my cheeks.
"I'm so sorry sweet heart. I should have..." I couldn't finish. I broke down, i didn't know what to do. Tess wrapped her arms around me. When Derik came forward to grab her and take her away from me I snarled. My Arc glowed brightly, I felt somthing rising inside. It was stronger than anything I've ever felt. Fear began to fill me. Derik grabbed Tess and in that moment somthing snapped. I felt energy surge through me and everything turned bright. The world went dark.
When I woke again Derik, Vlad, Claire, and the mystery master were standing around a black raised dias, floating above it a stone that glowed like a str. It spun and bobbed. All four of them had raised and arm their Arcs glowing extremely bright. The man in the cloak looked up and at me, in that moment I knew exactly who he was. Memories of visions filled my mind flooding my head all thoughts drowned out. God of Destruction pitted against the Godess of Life. He sent the Arc to me yet I didn't follow his path he layed out for me. I took the one I choose to take. Finally the visions stopped, and I could focus. I finally noticed Brandon on my right chained to the wall his hands tightly cuffed behind his back. He was staring at me, the worry expressed on his face matched my own. He looked over to the opposite wall and I followed his gaze. I gasped. In a black metal cage overhanging lava was Brandon's brother, Cole who was holding Tess. Tess had trails of tears on her chubby cheeks. Both of them were unharmed but terrified. I looked back to the little circle of evil.
"What do you want from me?" I asked curiosity masked my hate. None of them answered, they were trying to concentrate. Grinning I made bird noises. Brandon looked at me and reealized what I was doing. He began making lowing cow noises, then Tess followed making dog noises and Conor made hissing noises. The irritation on Deriks, Vlads, and Claire's face told us it was working. We got louder and louder until finally Vlad whirled around and launched himself at me.
"Vlad!" Vlad stopped in his tracks anger turning to rage as we continued to make noise. His nostrils were flaring. I chuckled as he slowly walked backwards.
"Scared are we?" I asked taunting him. His shoulders went up as he went to turn around but the sound of a growling came from Chaos. Vlad went back to the circle and continued their little poises. We eventually gave up on the noise and silence filled the room. Then four people stepped through the red portal. Nathan, the girl with purple hair, and two others who were new. The other boy had teal hair, and an orange Arc and the girl next to him had short blue hair and a dark blue Arc. Nathan and the purple hair girl (I really need to figure out what her name is) we're armed.
"Here to rescue the pet?" Vlad said mockingly.
"Too late," Vlad turned and their Arcs glowed brighter until almost blinding. Then a stream of light shot from the floating star and hit dead center of my chest. I screamed in agony until my voice gave out from the volume of screaming. I fell to my knees, my mouth and eyes opened wide. Tess cried out to me, and Cole turned her around covering her ears. Brandon pulled against his chains yelling at them to stop. Chaos turned around and stepped away as Derik, Vlad, and Claire turned to face Nathan and his friends. I could feel the energy inside of me fading, the fight torn away.
"Come on Nathan, come save your little friends," he points at me with his spear. What happened next I didn't know as my vision faded darkness engulfing me. I let go welcoming the quiet painless darkness. The last thing I said or tried to say, would never be heard.
Chapter 5She sat in the darkness waiting for somthing to happen. Nothing. The whisp appeared to her, floating in front of her.
"What are you doing?!" The tilted her head confused.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Get up and fight!" The whisp angrily circled her stirring up wind. The girl got up and looked around.
"There's nothing here. I thought these little cessions were over," the girl stared at the whisp not sure what it wanted from her.
"People are fighting to save you! To keep a dangerous power contained and your sitting here DOING NOTHING!" the girl covered her ears as the whisp shrieked angrily. The whisp flew straight into her mind and a vision appeared. Four people were fighting against three other people. On the right was a young boy his blonde hair covering half his face calling out desperately to someone. He was looking in the direction of the whisp and the girl. On the left was a cage hanging over a pool of lava with an older boy covering a little girl. A beam of light was pointed at the unknown spectators. One of the fighters broke away and went over to the star. He raised his blade and brought it down with everything he had. A boy with red hair spun around and eyes wide leapt at him. The blade came down and shattered the star into pieces.
I woke up kind of. Seeing everything that had happened from a different perspective made things weird. The chains holding me up fell as someone broke them and put an arm around me. My legs wouldn't support me and my vision was still blurred.
"You take another step and I'll cut this cord!" Standing by the pool of lava under the cage was Vlad. The furry righten all over his face. I looked up to see the cage empty. Confused I looked around. The girl with purple hair had appeared with the two prisoners behind one of the pillars of black obsidian.
"Go ahead," I said. The shock on his face caused a bubbling laughter to surface. I laughed so hard it hurt. As my laughter died away the rage and confusion exploded from Vlad. He raised his spear and brought it down on the chain holding the cage. The cage came crashing into the lava melting even as it sank. While he raged the purple haired girl took Tess and Cole through the portal. I could feel my self healing obtaining the energy lost. I finally was able to stand without having to be supported. I looked over and Nathan stood his blade clutched tightly in his hand.
"Nice down swing," he looked over at me confused. Then he looked at the broken star then back at me. I shook my head. I took in a deep breathe of smoky air. My Arc glowed brighter as my energy grew. My body sucked it up from the air and from the remnants of the broken star. The other two people that had come with Nathan turned to engage Derik and Claire. No one moved. I chuckled as I thought. I started to laugh so hard I keeled over. When I had quit laughing I stood up, my eyes had changed colors. The look of suprise and concern differed throughout the room. My eyes were silver and my Arc glowed brighter and brighter. A thought fleeted across my mind, before I was hurtiling at Derik and Claire. My black paws slammed into their chests as they turned to face me. I snarled before snapping at their faces. Both of them threw their arms to protect themselves. My tail flicked to the entrance. I could hear in the background Brandon tell Nathan to go. The others began moving towards the entrance. Once they got there I leapt off the the prey under me. My paws pounded the floor, my heart beating to the time of my feet. Through the portal, the others stood waiting and facing what seemed to be the God of Destructions equivalent of "loyal" soldiers. The sound of my growling grew into the sound of a roar as I transformed into somthing no one believed existed. I spread my leathery wings out and reared on my back legs. Heat flowed from my stomach up my throat and out my razor teeth, lined jaws. The first apple rows were obliterated by a stream of flame. Looking under me, we're frightened faces. I gently picked up the warriors and my friends. I made sure to keep my clawed hands loose, before launching in the air. I focused with all my concentration and opened a portal to a world I'm sure wasn't my own and flew through, leaving behind evil, and pain.
