turned to Ron years ago had he really known what happened.
Paul turned to Abby and said, βHow bout we get Jay and Susie to go out for dinner and then maybe go play some pool over at βRedsβ?β
βSounds like fun,β Abby replied, βWhy donβt I go help dad finish up at the store and you go find Jay?β
Paul leaned over, giving Abby a kiss on the cheek, βThanks, Abs.β he said.
βFor what?β she asked.
He just smiled and said, βyou know.β she looked into his eyes and said, βYeah.β Then gave him a quick kiss, telling him to go on and find Jay so she could get back to work. She climbed down from the pickup, gave a quick wave and turned to walk across the street to her car to head back to Loganville.
Paul pulled away from the curb, as he drove, he called Jay on his cell phone, when Jay came to the phone, Paul asked, βDo you and Susie have any plans tonight?β
βNot that I know of,β replied Jay, βWhatβs up?β he asked.
Paul told him what he and Abby had discussed about dinner, then asked Jay if he had time to meet for coffee at the diner.
βSure,β said Jay, β Iβll be there in ten.β
Paul told him to give it thirty minutes as he had to drive from Meadowbrook.
Paul pulled in the diner, went in and ordered a cup of coffee and a cheeseburger as he just realized that he had not yet eaten today. Dinner would be another couple of hours so he only ordered the sandwich to hold him over. Imprint
