Dewald met her at the train station in Johannesburg.
Daisy slipped into the wedding dress β it fitted her perfectly. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. She looked beautiful; just like her ma always said - a beautiful golden angel. Gently she touched the yellow roses that sheβd clipped on top of the veil. She smiled widely; they were ready to bloom; just like her.
Later that afternoon while Yolandie was at the library, Daisy quickly scribbled a note and left it on her sisterβs pillow. She picked up the suitcase and without even a backward glance at the house sheβd spent her life in, headed for the railway station to catch the train to the city of gold.
