looked at the white hollow eyes of the zombies, they looked so dead. I looked at the others and they looked worried too. Then three more zombies came out the entrance of the roof. We watched as they limped towards us moaning and reaching for us like we were their lunch.

"Damn it spread through the school that quickly." Cracked Ed, "Now it's going to be harder to get out of here."

"We have to close the door before anymore of those assholes get up here." Said Jess, projecting her voice loud enough.

"You're alright?" Asked Lizzy putting a hand on my shoulder, it was warm and soft. It actually made me feel better about the situation.

"Y-yah!" I stuttered as I loosened up a little.

I gripped my bat ready to kick some zombie ass. The zombies limped closer to us still moaning and screaming.

"LET'S GO!" Yelled Ed as he jumped at the crowd of zombies swinging his metal pipe wildly, and he actually hit two of them at the same time. The zombies flew backwards as blood gushed from their skulls spattering everywhere on the concrete rooftop.

I followed after Ed and ran at a zombie. I gripped my bat hard and swung it with great force. It connected to the zombie's face and damn did it feel good as the zombie flew back and its teeth fell out its mouth, blood everywhere on my new shirt. A chill rose up my back as it did, but I didn't need to worry about it because I better get used to getting blood on me for now on.

I killed two more of them and Ed killed three more. I was surprised we were actually doing well too. We were about done, Ed closed the door to the roof and barracked it with the spare chairs the school left on the roof. Ed turned around to me and he had a look of fear and shock.

"NICK BEHIND YOU!"

I turned around and a zombie jumped on me. I screamed trying to hold it back with the side of my bat. The zombie was pretty strong too. It chomped wildly trying to sink its teeth into my face. It hollow eyes staring into mine with no emotion at all, no remorse for killing me. I felt like it was the end of me, the end of it all, and me about to be a zombie's dinner. Then out of nowhere the zombie's face twisted into a really dead state. All I could hear was a power tool. It was Jess, she drove the needle at the end of the power drill into the skull of the zombie. Jess had a relaxed face because she made it in time. (Thank God, she made it in time.)

Jess drove the needle out of the zombie's head, chunks of its brain was still on it. I shoved the zombie off of me with disgust. Blood shot out the hole where Jess drilled into him.

"Thanks for saving my ass." I thanked Jess with fear still in my voice. I got up off the floor and stood up and my legs were still buckling.

"It would have never happened if Jess and Liz had helped us clear the zombies off the rooftop." Said Ed coldly. Looking at the door to see if it was secure.

"What I thought you said you got this." Said Lizzy copying Ed's deep voice.

I took a deep breath and exhaled trying to calm down from almost dying. While Ed looked at Liz like he wanted to smack her across the face.

"We need to find more survivors and form an army, we would be stronger that way." Said Ed.

"Yah, but we have to get off this roof first." Said Jess staring at the dead bodies and the mess we made.

"Man, I hope my pops is alright," said Ed staring off into the city where hell was still breaking lose.

Then my heart dropped into my stomach. I felt like an asshole. What older brother was I? I had totally forgotten.

"LILY!" I yelled slapping myself on the forehead as the three of them looked at me startled. "I forgot my younger sister Lily, she's still in the school!"

I ran through the hall, I didn't know who to tell first, the teachers or my friends. Then I decided to tell my friends because they'll probably believe me. I had to figure out how I was going to tell them the story. I need to get them out of class, I thought running through the halls, but first I needed an excuse to get them out of there.

I made a turn to the Social Studies classroom 390. Ed, Jess, and Liz are in the same class right now. I stopped at the door and tried to stop huffing and wheezing. I took a deep breath and turned the door knob and entered inside.

"Nick, what are you doing here?" Asked the Social Studies teacher looking from his book to stare at me.

"The principal needs to see Ed, Lizzy, and Jess." I said carefully.

Okay, the three of you can go.

The three of them got up and followed me out of the classroom with worried faces.

"What did we do?" Asked Ed with fear in his eyes.

"Nothing, I have to talk to you guys." I said nervously, afraid they may not believe me about what I was about to tell them.

"Then what is it then spit it out." Said Jess annoyed.

I took a deep breath and finally spoke. "Guys, I saw the PE teacher and the principal eating each other at the front gate outside."

All three of them sighed. "Nick, is that why you dragged us out of class for?" Said Ed, this isn't some Zombie movie maybe you were seeing things.

"I know what I saw." I snapped, and then they started going back to class. I knew they probably wouldn't believe I thought, then when they were at the foot of the classroom the loudspeaker went on and the person had a nervous voice.

Um, attention students, this is the accident, principal speaking and there had to be an evocation right - then there was a pause.

No, get away from me, stay away, no, no... ; then she stopped. Then we heard this weird moaning sound.

"Now do you believe me." I said shakily.

The three of them shook their heads yes.

"Let's get out of here." Said Ed grabbing Lizzy's hand.

I was trying to think on what to do first. Then it hit me like a dodgeball in gym class. Then I started running near the staircase and Ed, Jess and Liz followed right behind me.

When we got to our destination, I stopped in front of the janitor's closet. I opened up the door and went inside. Then I found the things I was looking for.

"Why did we stop here?" Asked Ed as he peered inside the dark musty closet.

"We need weapons to defend ourselves from the people outside the front gate." I said from inside the closet.

Then I finally emerged from the closet and handed everyone a weapon to fight with. I gave Ed a pipe, Liz a pole and for Jess a hand drill. Then I pulled out a metal bat. Then the three of them stared at me in shock.

"How come you get a bat, and what the heck is it doing in a closet of the school?" Asked Ed.

"Because I knew it was in here in the first place," I explained. "A kid was going to fight another kid with it, so they took it away and he never got it back, so I think it's fair I get the bat."

"What the hell am I supposed to do with this?" Said Jess.

"Just drill into their head with the needle," said Ed.

Then the whole school started to flood out of their classrooms and the teachers directing them in single line. Then that's when the trouble began. Ms. Cougar the PE teacher who got bit had walked slowly. People already knew what was going on now. Then she bit a random girl on the neck. The girl screamed and blood poured down her neck. She fell to the floor and laid there and got back up. She was like Ms. Cougar. Then she bit a guy on his arm.

"IT'S A ZOMBIE ATTACK!" Yelled a kid from the crowd.

Then the crowd scattered in different directions. They were pushing each other to get out of the way. Some people were running over people too.

I looked around and I realized the four of us had to get out of here quickly.

"Guys, let's go to the roof so we can see what is going on outside, so we know how many are out there." I shouted over the crowd's screams.

We set off and we were avoiding the crowd at the same time. Then Ed suggested we take the other stairway up to the roof, so we can avoid the kids. We climbed the stairs and it was chaos already through the school. We finally made on the last flight of stairs. Then I saw a kid getting bit and his blood squirted on me cheek. I wiped it off quickly because I hated blood and the sight of it. I also hate it when I get a cut, my skin crawls.

Then we made it to the roof and we looked at the city. Houses were on fire and there were so many zombies. The school was finally flooding out and students were getting bit easily.

'Damn, it was going to be hard to get out of here now.' I thought.

"How do we get out of here?" Asked Jess with fear in her eyes about to cry like a baby.

Then I looked over at Lizzy, she looked green as a pea and ran over to the edge of the roof and crouched over throwing up chunks of her lunch. It was pretty nasty and it smelled horrible too. Ed and I ran over to her and patted her on the back. She threw up for a good while. After she was done, she wiped away some of it off her lip.

"Sorry guys, that happens when I'm nervous, when I see something so horrible it scares the hell out of me for real." Said Lizzy.

Then I turned around and looked as the two zombies walked slowly out of the door. 'Those were probably the zombies who ate that kid.' I thought.
