An Angel's Emotions by Amber Marshall-Nichols (smallest ebook reader txt) π
Excerpt from the book:
Teddy is an angel- of sorts. He comes down to earth and feeds off of human energy to survive. It's both a curse and a gift. A gift because it gives him immortality now the human he was has died. It's a curse because the feeling of being human returns when he falls in love with a girl on earth.
Teddy starts to slip in to Ava's dreams and she begins to fall for him too- while she sleeps that is. Worst part is, dream entering is a big no no for Teddy's boss Zeus- so he'll have to pay the price....

My only thoughts of the girl, but I knew Iβd be back later- against my better judgement.
I accompanied the midnight ritual as usual, and then visited Nyx in her temple. Nyx seemed pleased with my sudden interest, or obsession with the human girl, which honestly puzzled me. Secretly, I was pleased. I had her approval. Now nothing could stop me. Stop me falling in love with her.
When I was reinstated in the girlβs home, I found the teenager turning restlessly in her bed, mumbling in her sleep. She wore a cotton shirt and boxer shorts, her golden locks pulled back into a scruffy bun. She tossed and turned violently every so often causing me to became very agitated watching her. Forever longing to know what she dreamt about. Could I risk it? I asked my self. Well, I did.
I lunged into the girlβs head, and felt her body jerk then turn rigid as I entered. I landed lightly on two feet, I noticed I had my wings now and was immediately dazed. She sat with her back to the sun, the uncomfortable heat radiating down onto her scared bare back, stinging the slits there. Ahead of us was a large field that seemed to stretch on forever. Ahead of the field was a stream and waterfall, The grass was the perfect summer green, and moist, coated with rounded water droplets from the last rainfall, just like the ones dripping from the girlβs hair and Imperfectly petled, purple flowers were scattered here and there, creating the perfect meadow. I could hear the water trickling gently as it travelled in the stream along the meadow bank, but the waterfall behind gashed down violently like tap water. It also reflected the colours of the rainbow, scribbling a whole new sketch. I looked back at the girl, she wasnβt crying, but she was upset. Her palm was running up and down the slick back of her guitar, and she swiftly moved on to trace her hand over the slender neck when she heard me breathe.
βWhoβs there?β she sighed.
βTed.β I said softly.
βAre you the thing that was following me earlier?β she asked, though she didnβt turn.
βI am.β
βHmm, can I see you now?β
βYes.β
βIβm Ava,β she informed me.
βAvaβ I breathed.
βHow are you here, this is my dream?β She said unexpectedly, and rather smug might I add.
βWhat happened to you?β I asked changing the subject.
βWhat do you mean?β She said, still looking ahead of her as I knelt down and tenderly traced the marks on her back with my index finger.
βDoes it hurt?β I asked.
βA little.β
βWho did this to you?β
βDid you see, earlier?β Oh, HE did this.
βWhy did he do this to you?β
βSame reason he hit me beforeβ
βHe thinks you cheated.β It wasnβt a question. βDid you?β
βNo.β she answered purely.
βI believe you.β I confessed. She turned then, and caught her breath.
βYouβre beautiful!β she exclaimed. βBut your wings, theyβre shrinking!β
βAhβ I said, looking at the sunset that was painted above us in her dream world βMust be twilight.β I said.
I smiled then, and abruptly, with lack of thought, I hugged her, wrapping my big black wings around her silhouette like a blanket, caressing her silky blond hair. She didnβt complain. Instead whispered in my ear, her honey sweet breath giving me goose bumps.
βI trust you.β Were the only words she spoke before I whipped her into my arms, and with her cradled like a baby, I rose from the ground into the air, the wind whipping my face, as I flew. And flew. And flew, with her happy in my arms. Nether the less, I could feel her soul withering inside my grasp.
