sorry” she said, and gave him one of her best smiles “do you forgive me?”
A grin suddenly appeared on his face “of course I forgive you, that’s what friends are for, to forgive each another.”
Caitlyn looked down at her hands “why are you really caring for me?”
Dante let out a deep breath “I honestly don’t know” he admitted “and that scares me half to death!”
To be honest it scared her half to death as well. How was she be able to have a normal friendship with him, when she knew that she had all these deep feelings for him that she would never be able to express properly? For all she knew, if she kept her feelings locked away, she would end up torturing herself to death with them!
Looking up at him she asked “do you think we can actually be friends?”
“I’m sure we could be good friends” he told her, and gave her a big smile “that is if we don’t end up killing each other with hatred once we figure out how different we are to each other.”
Caitlyn frowned “we aren’t that different” she said “we both know what we want, and we both won’t stop for nothing until we get it.”
They both also loved him, but Caitlyn didn’t think that it would have been a good idea to say that. Telling him how she felt would have seriously made an awkward spark on their newly founded friendship.
Caitlyn looked around to find that it was the end of the lesson.
She stood up, and smiled down at the frowning Dante.
“I will see you later” she said to him, and slowly walked away from him, whishing that she had had the confidence to tell him how she felt about him.
We can all wish, Caitlyn thought angrily. But it doesn’t mean that our wished will actually come true.
Shaking her head, Caitlyn mentally kicked herself for having such weird and wacky thoughts.

Chapter 10

Caitlyn was surprised when the call came exactly as she was entering the school yard at lunch break.
“Hello, this is Doctor Noel” the familiar voice said through the phone.
“Hello doctor Noel” Caitlyn said anxiously “have you got the results from the blood test yet.”
“Oh yes” the doctor said happily.
Caitlyn felt a small relief when she heard that the doctor’s voice still sounded happy.
No one could give bad news is such a merry voice, could they?
“You don’t have any kind of disease” the doctor told her “and from what I can tell, you have no illness at all.”
That made Caitlyn frown, of course she had an illness, why else would she be puking her guts out all the time, and feeling so tired twenty four hours a day, seven days a week?
“So what is the problem doctor” Caitlyn asked her, her voice showing her puzzlement.
At that moment she thought that it might have been a good idea for her to get a different doctor, and report this one for being so careless.
“You may want to be sitting down for this news” the doctor said “it may come as a big shock to you.”
Caitlyn walked up to one of the outside benched on the field, and sat down.
“I’m now sitting down” she told the doctor.
“I have never had to say this to someone as young as you” the doctor admitted “so I am just going to come out and say it, congratulations Caitlyn Forbes, you are five weeks pregnant.”
Caitlyn felt like the whole world had suddenly paused around her.
Pregnant, she thought. How could I be pregnant if I have only ever done it once?
It was then that she realized that they hadn’t used any form of protection.
“Are you absolutely sure?” she stuttered “is there any chance that you are wrong.”
“I am positive” the doctor said calmly “you are certainly pregnant.”
A single tear rolled down her face.
The worst thing was, it all made sense; pregnancy explained why she was so tired and was puking up all the time, She just never though that it would have been the right explanation though.
“I should be going” Caitlyn said, and disconnected the call before the doctor had chance to respond.
Out of all the irresponsible things that she had ever done, getting pregnant had been the worst.
What was she supposed to do, she didn’t believe in getting abortions, but she didn’t think it would be a good idea that she should look after a new born baby at the age of only fifteen. Even in a few weeks when she became sixteen, that would probably be to young as well. And what would Dante think about it, how on earth would he react when he found out that he was soon to become a teenage father?
Closing her eyes, Caitlyn took a deep breath.
She didn’t even know how to tell Dante that she was pregnant, what was she supposed to do, go up to him and say “oh by the way I’ pregnant and you’re the father”?
Just the Natalie ran up to her with a smile of her face.
“Who was that on the phone” she asked “was it the doctor, what did she say?”
“She said it was a stomach bug” She lied “it will pass soon.”
“That’s good” Natalie said, sounding relived “I thought it might be something life changing.”
If only you knew, Caitlyn thought with a sigh.

Chapter 11

When Caitlyn got home, the first thing she did was run into her private bathroom and locked the door.
Looking in the body length mirror, Caitlyn pulled up her shirt to reveal her stomach.
She had actually gained weight, she noted, but she had always thought that it was because had been a little lazier than she usually was.
As she touched her belly, it suddenly hit her that there was an embryo growing inside her body.
She was actually going to give birth to a baby, with cute little fingers and toes!
It wasn’t going to be like when she was baby-sitting for her relatives, it was going to be a full time job.
Caitlyn had never even thought of having children, it had always been a subject that she would shy away from and just hope fore the best in the future. She didn’t even know how to look after a baby properly, and from what she had seen it seemed like a pretty hard thing to be able to handle. How would she be able to cope with feeding the baby, changing the baby’s nappy and many other things while still going to school? It didn’t seem possible!
The worst thing was, she was going to be one of them single teenage mothers who people whisper about and make fun of just because she didn’t have a real relationship with a father figure. But when she thought about the happiness that she would be able to bring into the little persons life, what other people thought didn’t even matter to her.
Taking out her phone, Caitlyn messaged Dante to meet her in half an hour at the field at the back of her house. She knew that she would have to tell him the truth, and there was never any better time than the presence.
She knew that Dante probably wouldn’t react well to her being pregnant, and he would probably try to get her to have an abortion as soon as possible, so she would probably have to be persistent with him so he would know that there was no chance in a million years that she would ever have an abortion. And if I went well and he chose to become a real father, she wouldn’t deny his right to be able to see the baby whenever he wanted to.
When she felt her phone vibrate, she looked at it to find that Dante had agreed to meet her in half an hour.
Taking a shaky deep breath, Caitlyn forced herself to stand up straight.
Looking down at her stomach again, she smiled.
She was going to be a mother, and no one could ever change that!

Chapter 12

By the time Caitlyn got into the field, Dante was already waiting for her.
When she saw him, she gave him a weak smile.
“What’s wrong ragazza?” he asked her “is everything fine? I tried to get Natalie to tell me what happened with the doctor, but she refused to tell me a thing!”
Thank god for Natalie then!
“I have something to tell you” Caitlyn said when she finally spoke “and you are probably not going to like it one little bit.”
Dante frowned “what on earth could you tell me that would make you look so scared of me?” he asked suspiciously.
Caitlyn took a deep breath “I’m having a baby Dante” she told him “I’m pregnant.”
He stood still for a moment, as if he didn’t understand what she had just told him.
“How is that possible?” he said “that can’t be true!”
Tears ran down Caitlyn’s cheeks “it’s true Dante, I really am pregnant!”
Dante eyes widened “am I the father Angelo?” he asked her.
Caitlyn slowly nodded “yes you are the father” she said, then quickly said “but you don’t have to take any responsibility if you don’t want to, I’m not going to push you into something you don’t want to do.”
Dante laughed “what kind of person do you think I am?” he asked her “of course I am going to be involved Caitlyn, I’m going to be a father for God’s sake!”
Caitlyn winced at his words “that is up for you to decide Dante, like I just said no pressure on you.”
“I’m going to be a dad” he said, looking into the distance “a child is going to call me daddy!”
Caitlyn tried to feel sorry for him, but she just couldn’t.
If he didn’t want to be a father, he should have thought of that before he slept with her, it takes two to tango.
“I’m going to go now” Caitlyn said when she realized how dark and cold it was getting “just think about what I have said please.”
Dante nodded “I promise” he told her.
Caitlyn smiled, and slowly walked of.
She felt like some weight had come of her shoulders by telling Dante the truth.
It was one less person that she needed to tell about the pregnancy.
She just hoped that everyone else would react as well as Dante had with the baby news.

Chapter 13

As morning came the next day, sickness came as well.
After spending half an hour on trying to hide the fact that she had been sick, Caitlyn walked down stairs to find her mother cooking up a full English breakfast.
Caitlyn realized then she was hungry as she had ever been, and nodded eagerly when her mother offered to cook her something up.
“Your acting weird today” her mother said suspiciously “is there something wrong honey?”
Caitlyn gulped down a big lump that was stuck in her throat.
“I have to tell you and dad something” she rushed “but not now, maybe later.”
She didn’t want have to tell her parents one at a time, it would probably be simpler if they were together so she wouldn’t have to deal with two lectures about how irresponsible she had been, and how stupid she was for getting herself pregnant.
The only good thing with her parents was that they would never ask her to get an abortion; they believed that if someone got pregnant they had to deal with the consequences.
“Okay darling” her mother said, clueless about what was going on “I’ll try to get your father to come home early from work if you
