all written in her eyes every time she met an “ideal man.” She was blown away by just the feeling of walking down the aisle, and in attendance, all her friends, family members, enemies and ex-boy friends who would have dumped her or those whom they would have separated so off, as though they had never kissed or touched so deeply before.

Anyway, that was what she felt and wanted so bad; every time of her life she walked down the aisle in her mind. It was one of her ambitions, to one day say: I do, and a ring to be put on her finger.

Telling by her composure every time she saw partners getting married, you could see that she was ready for true commitment, but was she really? Is commitment brought about by love for something? Yes and No. yes, because without love one cannot go far with what they put their hands to or on. And No, because you can love something so much but if you don’t have it yet, maybe you’re not yet ready for it or it’s not yet ready to be yours either. Therefore, in this area or specification, time is a priority or an ideal. And so, watching this girl of ring, I realized and discovered why people often times are quick to marry and equally quick to fall out of it, yet they would have craved so much for it for a very long time. You can only imagine.

First and foremost, most people get into something to fulfill their desires or to fit in or attain a stereotype status. Secondly, others get into something for self gratification. All in all, that is just living a lie in guise of acting adult.

Girl of ring: she wanted so bad to get married but she never thought about it hard enough, that marriage is not just a walk in the park, but a walk of lifetime commitment and submission. She took herself in it, so easily and without detailed study or critical analysis of how it will be

after the honeymoon, and boy did marriage become her worst nightmare. Just imagine such drama: from being her biggest love and dream, to becoming her worst experience in life, ever.

Life can never get any sour than that; it defies you too once you defy it’s time and rules of engagement, it’s all I can really say, to all those who live by the status quo, but not by wisdom or their own happiness; it breaks to climb a mountain you have never really thought hard about. And it always pays off to be yourself; your true self will come out with time anyway. So why the heck to pretend in serious issues or situations! You only destroy your reputation once caught or when the truth comes out. Always think hard before going an extra mile, sometimes it’s too early to take another step or stride.

A ring

A ring, this is a sign of love, a sign of togetherness and a sign of being one.

A ring, what love results into when the running is over.
A ring, something that signifies the agreement of commitment, for life… A ring stands separate, but under vows, a sign of becoming one before
God;

Nothing, no longer stands in between the two of you, and you must be joined by true love;

Without true love there cannot be unconditional results; it is then, a fake, in disguise of a beautiful thing;

Just like the devil in a white shining armor or gown. Blown away by the feeling of belonging;

It was meant to be, for real,

It will last beyond material gain and tears,

Beyond even the stars and the moon, because the sky is the limit for every ambition and true love for something.

The works of hypocrisy go beyond the heart; They hurt so bad, it is hard to reason it out.
All walking in grace, joint by a ring that remains a symbol of true love
and commitment,

Without it there is no sign of togetherness;

Without it you’re not as one, but just wasting time in fornication.

As the days go by, the honeymoon is over;

It is time to wear out the worn ring on your hand;

As hard as it is forever, you should last with your chosen partner; But many choose partners for what they can see or tell about them;
That’s not love for the person, but something they possess and your
own self;

For such a kind of love dies away just like a disappearing whisper. A ring, the sign of togetherness,
With it, the person you give your body to is just still a stranger, even
though you have been together for a long time.

But in the world where everything and everybody looks suspicious,

The ring that holds tight onto our vows will melt away in disgrace and its meaning will not be of use any more, but so useless!

Girl of dynasty

She lived under the roof with men of strength and power; men who could make things happen, with their brains but not their physical power, because the former is more superior and lasting.

Girl of dynasty: in broad day light she stood among men with power, and her own power could be felt by everyone by just her confidence and snap of her finger. She was a ruler herself, though her voice was barely ever heard. Everywhere she walked people bow down in respect, because she was energy. Like picking on the one who is not your size, she was with power in the minds of others, but in her own family, she was the toddler; the one who was responsible for the upkeep of the men she lived among; she was the one who always cleaned the dishes, lay the beds and made sure everybody’s stomach was not grumbling. She was still a woman per se, though she was part of the dynasty.

Her strength was in her design and natural makeup as a woman; she couldn’t deny it or change a thing. Acting against that would be lying herself, first and foremost, and secondly, to those who knew her well. She had to act her make; she was a woman, and a lady to the world around her. Nothing had to change much about her, but only her status; if she had to ride on a horse, other women would ride on donkeys; if she had to live in a castle, other women would live in huts; if she were a lady other women were just commoners. But all in all, men in her family remained the center of attention because they had the power. Nothing was broken and less was constructed about her; she remained a woman among men. She was always assured of protection and every material thing and love she needed, but her position would still remain of a woman among men, and a lady among women around her. That’s how life is and should be, I always thought to myself, watching this girl of dynasty walk in the gardens of her palace. She was a class apart from all women around her because she was a lady, but the fact remained that she was still a woman too.

Girl of dynasty: her life trailed behind men of the dynasty, yet she had much power amongst the world around her. If I had got a chance with her, I know nothing would have changed: me being just a commoner; and she had been groomed to be a women among men of power and a lady among women. She wouldn’t be any different even with love, just a woman as any other, but with just a status on her identity.

Strength of a man

He stands strong on his two feet; When trouble falls he doesn’t run; He’s the stronghold of a home;
Without him the wind fills the place and could take root;

With him around the sun shines bright and the moon is surely a must. The strength of a man starts with him and ends with him.
A real man never stumbles when the world around him shakes;

A real man has faith in God and he knows that he has to be a man to survive this world of a jungle.

When wrong is the only source of survival,

A real man will turn that around and right will reign forever. The strength of a man is in a woman,
She’s the mother of all creation but still inferior to a man.

A man is never a coward; he’s never afraid of responsibility; he never forgets to use his mind before he acts.

When there seems not to be tomorrow, a man who knows what to do plans for tomorrow and lives happily today.

When there is a storm, the strength of a man stands the threat;

He rises up when everything has gone low, and he directs all that follows and relies on him.

The strength of a man is his achievements.

As the days elapse, what used to be remains noticed, and what is to be is in oblivion.

The stars will shine for the prince of all walks,

He rules over his world, and the world of those who are less than him; He rules with a soft touch but not an iron hand.
Fools crumble whenever much sense is spoken;

They know less of themselves and nothing about the world around them.

A man is one who does what he said he would do; He is not altered by gossip and scorn.
The strength of a man is in his wisdom,

If he knows what to do, he will surely be a leader to himself and others.

CHAPTER FOUR A PLAY

MY LAST MEDICINE

SCENE ONE (At the Hospital) CURTAINS ROLL AWAY:
IN MRS. JERKINS’ HOSPITAL ROOM

Mrs. Jerkins is lying in bed, all looking weak. She’s awake. A young, good-looking doctor walks in, to her bed. He’s all smiles. Mrs. Jerkins is in her mid-fifties.

Dr. Marco

Mrs. Jerkins, how are you doing this morning?
Mrs. Jerkins sits up in her bed, reluctantly; she’s in pain; all is expressed
by her creased face and limited movement.

Mrs. Jerkin

Oh Marco, it’s a bright morning, but definitely, not a bright me.

Dr. Marco places the stethoscope into his ears, onto her chest.

Dr. Marco

You’ll get through this Ma’am. All

it takes is a positive state of mind.

Mrs. Jerkin

Sometimes the mind too is a stubborn battleground.
Dr. Marco stands back looking at her in amusement.

Dr. Marco

No doubt about that ma’am, but it’s a critical part of our body, so we need
to control it anyway, not it controlling us.

Mrs. Jerkin

That’s easy for you to say son. But when you’re down here like I am, it’s another story.
Dr. Marco

Believe me ma’am. What a patient goes
through, the doctor equally suffers the same pain. Mrs. Jerkin moves a bit, hesitantly, in the confines of her bed (she just
had a discomfort in the way she was seated, but she deals with it).

Mrs. Jerkin

Tell me about it.…
