The Comet and the Three Magi
Thrust unceremoniously millions...possibly billions of years ago by a star-burst or some anonymous exploding planet, the comet sped towards the edge of space. Wherever or whenever that may have been, it spun slowly as it thoughtlessly moved along at its leisurely pace.
Now, out of nowhere a strong nudge by a powerful creature with dark wings and a much darker countenance, redirected the path of the comet towards a new destination. A foretold and famous destination β¦ one recorded for all to share for years to come.
Not far away on a small blue orb circling a yellow dwarf star, three stargazers from some far eastern corner of that orb watched and kept their eyes on the dark star littered heavens. They had already studied the prophesies of the ancient Jah worshiping tribes, and where glad to spot a sign shining brightly in the busy sky.
Some say this threesome were kings. Others say they were magic practicing priests, but their quest that year was for a special royalty. One surpassing all others.
Another angel of lesser strength tried to divert the small comet from its condemned destination, but to no avail. The comet sped along as usual, undisturbed, to fulfill its commitment.
Across the wasteland the three plodded along following the distant forerunner in the sky.
Many days later, as they neared a big city, Jerusalem, one of them scratched his head and remarked that all the foretold signs pointed to a small town...Bethlehem Ephrathah, and not this large and powerful city Jerusalem...the capital domain of a ruthless, murderous and jealous ruler Herod. Must be some error on their part, he thought. But the comet stood still over the city, became brighter, hovering, waiting over the palatial building.
The exotically clad foreigners entered the grandiose palace, and were promptly escorted to the king, who welcomed them with open arms. After wining and dining them, on hearing about their quest for a promised king, Herod commissioned them politely, to continue their journey, and once they have located the young lad, they should without fail, report back to him immediately. After all, he wanted to bestow his own blessings upon this infant. The magi felt this to be a lie. Promising to return, they left, and resumed their quest for the boy, who by now would be approximately two years old by now. The comet sill bright continued now on a slightly different direction headind south.
About a day later, a young lad of around two, spied a bizarre sight, called out to his mother, and pointed to three odd looking strangers coming up the small homesteads dusty pathway.
Once inside the small abode, and upon seeing the lad, the very one they searched for, the long prophesied Messiah, they immediately bowed down and did obeisance to him. This was he who was foretold to bring everlasting peace to all of ailing mankind. Also with sad eyes they knew the tremendous sacrifice this beautiful boy would have to make to achieve that blessed goal.
After showering him with precious gifts, they departed via different route, circumventing the capital city. The good news they carried back home with them would be shared by many, many people and it would eventually be spread world wide.
