ever in a rush. People were calm, the weather was nice, most of the time. A few times itโ€™ll rain just enough to make the streets have a small flood of about three or four inches. Rarely, itโ€™ll end up storming, or flooding entirely. Considering weโ€™re next to the ocean, itโ€™s strange. Suddenly, I heard an announcement. It seems my train will arrive in just a few minutes.

โ€œSo youโ€™re heading out soon?โ€ My friend asked me. I nodded. He grinned, closed his eyes, and crossed his arms, giving a small laugh. Suddenly, his grin vanished and it felt like this would be the last time I ever saw him smile. Then, I felt a bit sad. Leaving to join the military, letting my family and friends worry about me. It just didnโ€™t feel right.

Soon, the train arrived and I boarded. I had a first class ticket, so I sat in the front. Luxurious seats sat around tables and booths near the windows. This is the first time Iโ€™d ever seen a first class train cart. I sat at one of the booths, where no one else sat. A few more people entered the cart with me. I grabbed a yellow folder that held files of a few unimportant documents. I searched through, seeing exactly what was in there, then I found my ticket. I pulled out my ticket and stuffed it in my left pocket, just in case if someone came in to check for tickets. I stared out the window at the city I lived in. Farewell, good friends and family. One day, I hope I can come back here. I took classes to enroll in one of the four branches of the military during my highschool years. Memories I wonโ€™t forget from those classes. Iโ€™d made friends and re-met some of my older friends. Some of them had dropped out of high school, some quit the class, and others just continued with it. When I finally reached this point today, when I graduated, I headed to a recruitment center and joined the armed forces. They put me through some tests, which were damn hard, but I got passed, what seemed to be just barely. It was a true pain, just to get through those damn tests, but now Iโ€™m on a train to an airport, to go to Hawaii.

I arrived in Texas. Now, it seems like everyone who was going to Hawaii just flowed in one big pack, so I followed the pack. It took a while before we got to the airport, and it also seems that there was a plane reserved for us already. We all ended up getting on the plane. I sat on the right end of the middle row of seats, with two other to my left. The one right next to me was nervous, I could tell. The one to the far left didnโ€™t seem to give a fuck at all, he just pulled a cigarette and lit it. To me, he looks like heโ€™s about six years or so older than me, in his twenties. The nervous one doesnโ€™t look but about my age. When I looked to my right, I saw two people. One was just relaxing, his head on the back of his seat. The other one looked out the window. Honestly, I was nervous, too. I was also a bit scared, as well. This is my first day, so why wouldnโ€™t I be scared? They told us the flight would take about seven hours, so weโ€™ll get there before tomorrow. There were a bit more people than I expected to be on this flight. In fact, thereโ€™s a lot more. I have a feeling that all these people are at least a bit scared, except the person smoking a cigarette.
