Ah, yes. When it happened, I was merely only a child. So much has happened since then. Since very little, I have always kept a diary. I would write all the events that had happened in that day β most of which, did not contain anything interesting. Until one day, when everything went to hell.
Today was a Saturday. I am a ten year old kid. I would not consider myself very intellectual. I have black hair, I live in the country-side with my parents and siblings. I am the youngest within my family. I have two sisters β Clara and Chloe. And once brother β Josh. For the most part, I was happy with my life. I could not ask for anything more. My family loved me more than anything. Sure, I would get in fights with my parents or siblings sometimes, but who doesnβt? I lived a very normal life for the most part. Wake up, take a shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush my teeth, head to school, and then come home. Most kids my age hated school β but I loved it. I got to hang out with all my friends in one place and learn, even though I was not very smart, I still very much enjoyed to learn more and more every day. My favorite subject was English class. I loved to read, it was my favorite thing to do in my spare time. I always kind of stood out, so books are really my place to escape. I could go into any world I could dream of, countless fantasies awaited me. I was a very good growing up, I never got into fights β except with my family members. But even that happened very rarely. Yet, I did not know the very fate that had awaited me. As I previously stated, I kept a diary when I was little. I had used that to create the story I am about to tell you; if youβre looking for a happy-go-round story β then go somewhere else. This is only the harsh reality of life.
I awoke to the blaring of my alarm-clock. A typical Saturday morning start β for the most part. But there was something different. There was an odd odor lingering through-out the house. I could not place my finger on what the scent was. I left the confinement of my room, still dressed in my pajamas. Walking downstairs, expecting to see my mom in the kitchen and having her ask me, βFinally awake, sleepy head?β but she wasnβt there. I stared with a blank expression as where she would have been standing, then proceeded to walk down the stairs. As I entered the kitchen, I had noticed the stench of that horrid smell had strengthened. I could smell it much more vivid now, if I had smelled this anywhere before β I would have most definitely of noticed it. But I havenβt, it was an invader to my nose, an unknown substance. I began to approach to where the odor was coming from β at-least from what I could tell it was coming from. For reasons unknown, my heart was racing β curious to find where the unknown odor is coming from, but at the same time; scared. Slowly stepping through the kitchen floor as though I was trying very hard as to not wake someone. Creak. This is the only noise you could here as I slowly managed my way to my living-room; which I had suspected as to where the smell was coming from. Then I noticed something β small red drop splatters. There were not many, but the number increased as I approached the living room. Thoughts racing through my head.
βWas this where the horrid smell was coming from?β
βWhat is this weird substance?β
βWhere the hell did it come from?β
As I stuck my head through the kitchen to the living-room, my thoughts had been ceased.
Red. Red all over the walls, the floor, the furniture. As my eyes gazed at what I was seeing β I finally made out what it was. It was my dad, sitting up on the couch β but there was something missing. His head. I looked down to the floor and my fatherβs head was staring me right in the eyes, into my soul. Next to my father was my mother β who was stripped bare and had wound marks from head to toe. Her vibrant blonde hair β no more. Now a deep shade of red β crimson. Tears gushing down my face; not knowing what to make of the situation. Knowing nothing but sorrow and fear. Not knowing what is to come next β not knowing how to react. Then I saw something. Out of the corner of my eye β right by the door; I saw a man. He wore a large trench coat. He was wearing a brown bowler style hat. Though β his face was covered by a large mask. By looking at him, I could tell the mask had used to be white. But now β it was only deep crimson. Stained by the very life of my parents. His attire was stained with blood; covering head to toe of his body. Then I saw what he was holding; it was similar to a knife, but too long to be one. It was a sword. The man slowly started to approach me, I wanted to run, but I couldnβt. My feet stay still as if they were glued to the very floorboards of my house. Breathing heavily, kneeβs trembling, palms sweating as if I was in a sauna. I hadnβt known this feeling very well, but now β I most certainly have. It was fear.
Quickly returning to my senses, I realized the danger I was in. I searched the room for something to defend myself, and I found it β a baseball bat. I quickly grabbed it, I was no longer fearful of what might happen, I was angry. This beast had just murdered my mother and father β no way I could let it live. I raised the baseball and brought it down with all the force I could manage onto the beastβs head. I thought I got him, but he remained unaffected β the baseball bat had broken!
The beast was still slowly approaching me. Now realizing there was no hope in defeating this monster, the anger had quickly turned to fear, once again. Slowly backing away from this beast; I started to run. I could grab a phone or something and call the police β hopefully! As soon as I started to run, the beast was in front of me. I stopped moving all together. I did not know how this was possible β was it even possible? There was no way something could move that fast, it did not even move β it teleported!
The beast raised its arm, sword still in hand β I knew it was over. I closed my eyes and prepared for the worst.
Chapter 2: Demon Hunter[Not finished]
βGahβ¦β I said slowly getting off the floor while rubbing my neck. Then I paused, quickly remembering what had happened. Was I β dead? My vision was blurry, and my body ached with pain all over. But, everything was still intact. I brought my hand in-front of my mouth to see if I was breathing β I was. Looking around the room, my parents were gone. However, the deep crimson shade of my parentβs blood was not. Tears started flowing from my eyes like rivers. I had no idea what to do, who could I tell? Then I suddenly remembered my sisters and brother. Before I could think, my body started running. Through the kitchen, and up the stairs. My siblings rooms were all on the same floor, I had my own room. My sisters shared a room, and my brother had his own room β like me. I flung the door to the room my sisters shared room open. Nobody was in there. Next, I quickly checked my brotherβs room β no hope. Not knowing what else to do, I slowly dragged myself into my own room. I collapsed onto my bed and started sobbing. Then I noticed something. At the corner of my room was a sword. No, not just any sword β his sword. I knew it has to be his without a doubt. I got off my bed, and rubbed my eyes. I slowly approached the sword that was sitting in my room like it had been there forever. I grabbed it and lifted it up. There was an engraving on the scabbard of the sword.
